2017 Corener Hines College Scholarship Fund APPLICATION FORM The Corener Hines College Scholarship Fund is named in honor of the late Corener Hines. Affectionately known as Mother Hines she was an enthusiastic leader and strong proponent of education. She served as Senior Advisor and Chief Intercessor at Christian Faith Fellowship Church under the leadership of her eldest son Bishop Darrell L. Hines and Pastor Pamela Hines. Everyone was aware of her love for prayer, praise, family and God. She was very active in the life of her children at school, at church and at home. She participated in the Parent Teacher Association and served as the President of the Steering Committee for The Milwaukee Public Schools for five years. She was also a licensed foster mom of Milwaukee County and offered her home as a safe-haven to over 30 children and adolescents for over ten years. In 1998, the United States Post Office honored Mother Corener Hines for her Humanitarianism at their Annual Women Putting Their Stamp on Metro Milwaukee Award. This award was in recognition for her volunteerism, community service and dedication. In keeping with the legacy of Mother Corener Hines, we want to reward deserving students who are leaders and exemplify a spirit of service. Her love for children and education will live on in those who receive this year s scholarship awards. Scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors and currently enrolled college students. High school seniors will be awarded the scholarship only after proof of college enrollment. Students must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and demonstrate: 1) financial need, 2) service to others and 3) clarity of long-term career goals. Preference will be given to youth who are previous or current members of Destiny Youth Ministry. APPLICATION PROCESS All applicants must complete the ENTIRE application form and submit the following: Copy of most recent report card/transcript 1 completed recommendation form by a teacher, counselor, mentor who is NOT a relative. Good Hope Road, Milwaukee, WI 53224; or in person by appointment only. Applications must be submitted by Friday, June 16 th 2017 by 7pm (CST). Mail must be postmarked by June 16 th.
