Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Sports Girls Soccer: Attention all girls trying out for girls soccer, there will be a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, October 25 th in Room 14 during lunch. The meeting will start at 12:50 pm. We will go over requirements, times/dates of tryouts, and collection of physicals. Please make sure to attend this Friday s physicals from 3:00-4:00 pm in Room 14. Physicals: Winter physicals will be held on October 20 th from 3:00-4:00 pm in Room 14. Please pick up the instructions for Register My Athlete and physical form in Student Services. If you have questions, see Ms. Martinez or email her at ymartinez@sjusd.org. General Information ATTENTION ALL SENIORS!!: Do you want to see your baby pictures in the yearbook? Yearbook is doing guess that baby. Come upstairs to room 83 with your baby photo. Don t forget to leave your first name, last name, and a clue. If you want to email a photo, send it to kp.yearbook19@gmail.com the last day to turn in photos is October 16 th. ATTENTION SENIORS: The final date for Senior Formal Portraits to be in yearbook will be November 9 th. The final senior portrait dates are Thursday October 26 th AND Friday, October 27 th from 3:30-7:00 pm in the Cafeteria. Students should call 1-877-825-7922 to set up an appointment. Community Service Saturday, October 21 st, Roosevelt Community Center is holding an Electronic Recycling Event and is looking for volunteers to greet community members, record E-waste received, and help unload light items from vehicles. For more information pick up a flyer in the Career Center. Help with Job Applications: Do you have questions about what types of companies hire teens and how to fill out a job application? We will have a representative from a workforce department here on Thursday at lunch to answer your questions and help with employment. SJHS COLLEGE WEEK Today Learn About Your Teacher s Alma Mater! Throughout the day, you can learn about YOUR teacher s educational journey! Just stop by the Educational Journey display located in A-Hall. During lunch, your teachers will be tabling their alma maters. Along with the college tabling, there will be a scavenger hunt. If you participate, you will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a pair of HOMECOMING TICKETS! Hope to see you there!! Cash for College: ATTENTION SENIORS! TODAY, is the Cash for College Workshop. Counselors, Financial Aid Personnel, and the DCAC Advisor will be available from 3:00-7:00 pm in Room 21. They will be working with students and parents/guardians to fill out the FASFA and DREAM Act Applications and to help with any issues or questions that may arise. Students and families can stop anytime between 3:00 and 7:00 pm. College Visits On Friday, October 20 th there will be representatives from the following schools giving presentations in the Library: UC Merced at 9:30 am UC Berkeley at 10:30 am University of Washington at 11:45 am Sign-up in the college and career center until the end of the day Thursday.
