The Rotary Club of Gros Islet Chartered 1993. The Little Club That Could!t6/17 Main Projects: 1. Centre for Adolescent Renewal and Education Helps disadvantaged and marginalized youth take control of their lives, giving them a second chance. 2. Dental Healthcare Programme for Primary School Students A programme for prevention and treatment of dental decay. Over 5000 students treated since 2003. Through a Matching Grant with Rotary club of Northwick Park, London, the club acquired a portable dental unit to do treatment in schools. 3. Bo s Training Centre Computer class room with desks. Sports Equipment. Erection of laundry drying area. 4. Medical Equipment Centre Sourcing of a 40 foot container with new medical equipment valued at EC$1M with assistance provided by the Min. of Health and voluntary organizations in the US. 5. The Bells of Gros Islet The Belfry is home to the Bells which adorn the Gros Islet Roman Catholic Church. Designed and built by the club with funds raised by the 1st Charity Golf Tournament. This tournament has since become an annual staple on the lu s calendar of activities.
