Please allow ample time to register and find your room. Workshops begin at 8:45 a.m.* LISTEN UP A Practical Guideline for Workplace Hearing Conservation Workplace Safety and Health Legislation addresses problems relating to occupational noise-induced hearing loss. Depending on the level of noise your employees are exposed to, the legislation imposed a legal duty on the em-ployer to implement education, surveillance and noise control procedures. Employees are trained in the im-portance of selecting the right type, fit and proper use of hearing protection for the particular job they are doing. Safety Representative and Committees What to Expect During WSH Inspections Legally, every employer on every jobsite must have at minimum a designated safety representative and/or a safety committee familiar with their legal duties and responsibilities. What s happening on your work sites? What should you be doing? This workshop is specifically tailored to the roles of the site worker safety representatives and com-mittee members. Learn the guidelines and practical solutions to dealing with your legislated responsibilities for safety and health concerns on the jobsite and within your company. Confusion and sometimes fear or negativity often accompany a visit from a government Workplace Safety and Health Officer on a jobsite. This presentation facilitated by WSH Officers will help participants understand why officers visit worksites, what your responsibilities are once an officer comes on site, what is involved in WSH inspec-tions and investigations, and what exactly an improvement order or stop work order is as well as how to satisfy the order. * Receive one draw entry per individual registered, with no limit for registrations!
