Visit us at www.righttoplay.com JOB SUMMARY: The Director, Global Program Partnerships reports to the Vice President, Program Development and Evaluation and is responsible for working in close cooperation with the broader Program Development and Evaluation team, Regional Offices, and Country Offices. Together with the Global Program Partnerships (GPP) team, the Director, Global Program Partnerships leads the organization s global efforts to engage, manage and steward critical funding and program partners. The Director plays a leading role in the cultivation and stewardship of key donor relationships, the development of prioritized funding proposals and the effective management of strategic grants. The Director, Global Program Partnerships will be based in Toronto with up to 15% of time travelling to Right To Play program countries.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Job Responsibility #1: Grant Management and Stewardship (40% of Time): Ensures that stewardship plans are created and followed for key donor relationships. Ensures grant management teams are in place, including country and regional staff, as well as communications, program finance, technical specialists, monitoring, evaluation and learning, policy and advocacy, and training and capacity building. Regularly convenes teams to ensure effective grant management and donor stewardship. Manages overall grant management process for an identified portfolio of complex, crossregional grants, including Global Affairs Canada, and a select group of Foundations and Governments. Ensures compliance to donor agreements, most notably ensuring the GPP team is producing top quality narrative and financial reports which are submitted in a timely manner. Works with GPP team and regional office to develop grant management tools and systems to ensure efficient and effective implementation. Based on the identification of need, coordinates and participates in planning and support visits to relevant regions and countries. Regularly communicates with field teams and conducts intermittent travel to regional and country offices. Ensures the promotion of best practices and lessons learned by documenting and communicating project successes and areas of improvement through internal communication channels and with partners externally. Job Responsibility #2: Partnership Development and Donor Cultivation (30% of Time): Oversees the development and implementation of a four-year global program partnership strategy, ensuring the creation of a robust pipeline of high-probability funding opportunities linked to Right To Play s organizational strategy and country strategic plans, as well as the effective management of existing relationships. Develops a Global Affairs Canada funding strategy that seeks to further develop and grow Right To Play s partnership with Global Affairs Canada. Oversees the process of scoping, assessing and recommending new funding opportunities. Leads research on prospective new donors, maintains lists of potential new funders, and oversees a strategy for outreach to new funding partners. Cultivates and directly manages donor relationships, where appropriate, and provides support to the VPs and CEO to enable them to successfully steward critical relationships. Represents Right To Play at events, roundtables, conferences and meetings. Job Responsibility #3: Proposal Development (15% of Time): Oversees and ensures appropriate support for the creation of proposal development teams to manage prioritized fundraising opportunities. Oversees proposal development teams, ensuring that the proposal development process adheres to sound project management principles, engages appropriate team members and specialists, and obtains necessary sign-off from leaders within the organization.

Writes or reviews major funding proposals and budgets, ensuring that the products submitted achieve a standard of excellence and are compatible with both internal and donor policies. Ensures a smooth transition from proposal development to program implementation and helps facilitate positive relationships and strong communications with donors, partners and country offices. Job Responsibility #4: Team Leadership and Management (15% of Time): Leads the development of the GPP team s annual and quarterly work plans. Ensures key deliverables are planned, that the team s work is well coordinated within the broader organization, and clearly communicated to key organizational stakeholders. Supervises, mentors, and supports each team member, helping each individual to set and achieve appropriate professional development goals. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (must have): EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION: Undergraduate degree in International Development, Political Science, International Relations or related field. Master s degree in a related field. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in the humanitarian aid and development sector, including field experience. Proven experience creating successful development and humanitarian proposals for a variety of government, foundation, and other institutional donors. Proven experience managing multi-country grants from governments and foundations, especially Global Affairs Canada. Experience with staff development and talent management. TECHNICAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: Strong knowledge of program design and budgeting processes, including development of logical frameworks and performance monitoring plans Excellent writing, editing, and research skills Knowledge of a variety of government and foundation funding mechanisms Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

COMPETENCIES/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Highly organized and able to manage timelines involving multiple inputs under tight deadlines; Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills; Excellent operational, organizational and communication skills; Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to develop relationships with partner organizations in aid and development field as well as various government agencies; Self-starter, able to achieve results with little supervision and to work independently; Diplomatic; Ability to lead, guide, coordinate, and facilitate projects and strategic planning processes and establish short and long-term goals.
