Labor Room Procedures We strive to keep you and your family together during your stay at The Birthing Inn. After delivery, your baby will stay in the suite with you if you choose. We encourage and support skin-to-skin bonding and breastfeeding. Common procedures in the suite include: An overall assessment Erythromycin eye ointment to prevent infection Vitamin K injection to help with blood clotting Wiping the baby with warm blankets

Cesarean Birth The Birthing Inn features dedicated operating rooms, available only for C-section delivery. The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit is designed so mothers and newborns can remain together. Approximately 1-2 hours after a vaginal delivery or a C-section, mom and baby go together to a private post-partum suite.

Safety & Security The safety, security, health and happiness of your family are of utmost importance to us. All staff members wear a photo ID The Birthing Inn is a secure and dedicated building separate from the main hospital where patients with illnesses are cared for.

Safety & Security At the time of delivery, you will be identified and banded as a family unit, prior to leaving the labor and delivery unit. The bands will be checked every time the baby is taken to or picked up from the nursery.

Family-Centered Care After you deliver, you ll be moved to a post-partum suite for the remainder of your stay.

Family-Centered Care Details We want your first moments to be intimate and comfortable that is why we only offer private rooms. Your healthy baby may room-in with you at all times. You may also take advantage of our fully staffed well-baby nursery if you desire. A comfy sleep chair is provided in the room for mom s significant other to spend the night. There are local phones in each room and calling cards can be used for long-distance calls. Free WiFi is provided for your convenience

Well Baby Nursery A well baby nursery, staffed by specially trained and compassionate staff, is available while you rest and recuperate if desired.
