I have been given the tools to transition from IDEA to REALITY with the help and the encouragement of the staff and other participants in the Operation Jumpstart Program. The group had expert facilitators, and the weekly speakers were on a wide range of topics that we would all encounter in the real business world. The information they shared was priceless and came with the invitation to contact them personally if needed That is what makes SBDC different Our community, our friends and neighbors who are willing to give back to the southern seven counties Many thanks to all.. "I was very impressed by the assistance provided by the Shawnee Community College SBDC when I was seeking financing to build my winery in 2001. I again sought their help when I decided to build a restaurant and seek financial help. I have continued to expand my business by constructing cabins to go along with the winery and restaurant. The staff at the Shawnee Community College SBDC are very helpful. I will go there again if I need help." Jack Allen Dunker, Owner Cache River Basin Vineyard & Winery and "I never thought I would say this but Gabriele Farner actually made Excel training fun and interesting. I was so impressed with what I learned in Level 2, I immediately signed on for Level 3. If you need business training, but do not have a lot of time or money, the Illinois Small Business at Shawnee College is the place to go." Mary McMahan Union County Counseling Services, Inc. "I am so glad I was told about SBDC at Shawnee Community College. Gabriele was so helpful in preparing a business plan necessary in getting my business loan. Any questions I had, I would call Gabriele, Candy or Brett and if they didn t know the answer they would find it and call me back. Brett still checks in on my business from time to time. Thanks to Shawnee Community College, I was able to open the business of my dreams and one year later, we are still going strong. Thanks again."
