Greetings, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is the oldest Greek-letter organization established for African- American women. Based on community service, stewardship and sisterhood, Alpha Kappa Alpha has served the community for over 108 years with diligence and pride. Members of this illustrious sorority are committed to cultivating and encouraging high scholastic and ethical standards; promoting unity and friendship; alleviating social issues that affect girls and women; maintaining a progressive interest in academic achievements; and unselfishly serving all mankind. In an effort to preserve the spirit of Alpha Kappa Alpha, the Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter, in partnership with the Ivy Heritage Foundation of Irmo, Inc. hosts the Emeralds of Excellence Scholarship Program and Debutante Cotillion for rising high school juniors and seniors within Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, and Orangeburg Counties. Emeralds of Excellence are young ladies that exemplify poise, leadership and respect within their schools and communities. Throughout the debutante season, these young ladies will engage in various workshops and activities designed to encourage future success. Through fundraising efforts for this event, we have awarded over $200,000 in college scholarships during our previous ten Cotillions. It is important to the Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter and the Ivy Heritage Foundation of Irmo, Inc. that all participants in the program receive a scholarship to support their college endeavors. On Saturday, May 26, 2018, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter in partnership with the Ivy Heritage Foundation of Irmo, Inc. will host its 11 th Biennial Emeralds of Excellence Debutante Cotillion at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Please show your commitment to excellence and youth development by making a financial donation to our debutantes. Your partnership with the Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter will provide an opportunity to network and market to over 400 attendees. All corporate sponsors will be listed within the Emeralds of Excellence cotillion booklet and offered cotillion tickets. Your sponsorship listing will illustrate your dedication to the academic and personal achievement of young ladies in your community. They are stellar students with bright futures! Sponsorships are available at the levels listed on the accompanying form. Our Emeralds of Excellence Cotillion partner, Ivy Heritage Foundation of Irmo, Inc., is a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization, and any sponsorship donations submitted through this partner are tax deductible.
