1 OBJECTIVES The Egyptian Central Equatoria State BC (ECBC) helps to forge and foster business ties between Egypt and the Republic of South Sudan. The broader aim of the Council is to further facilitate investment by Egyptian and South Sudanese companies in each other's countries and to increase trade opportunities. Being Established by Egyptian and South Sudanese companies, ECBC is a private, well established, trade, manufacturing, services & support organization with anticipated 50 member companies. It aims at being one of the most active councils in Juba and in South Sudan as a whole. ECBC achieves its high standards through the successful execution of its three objectives: 4
A) REPRESENTATION Representation: ECBC serves as a link to other bi-lateral Business Associations and Chambers of Commerce. It will actively participate in the dialogue amongst European Union member states in Cairo and Brussel and with American Chamber of commerce and Egyptian Canadian Business Council. ECBC will establish relations with various government institutions. The common business interests of our members as well as individual needs of companies are voiced through ECBC to the appropriate authorities in Egypt and in Republic of South Sudan 5
B) Networking & Events Through regular events, members are able to develop good business contacts with the business community in the other country, as well as with other foreign companies, Egyptian & South Sudan s counterparts and government bodies. In addition to the Business Luncheon presentations, seminars, meetings & dialogue sessions with relevant institutions and visits to companies, exhibitions or projects, numerous social networking events are organized together with other Business Associations and Chambers of Commerce to further extend networking opportunities. ECBC will participate in Trade Exhibitions and match-making sessions whenever possible. At exhibitions, ECBC members will be invited to present their products and services within Egyptian and or South Sudan government supported Pavilion 6
C) Information ECBC will provide business information services to our members. CEBC also assists members and newcomers to the Egyptian & South Sudan market on issues related to setting up a company or a rep office here. ECBC keeps our members updated on the latest developments in the business world and members' news through a quarterly online publication ECBC also plan to publish a Business Directory every year 7
