Morrill County 4-H Update March/ April 2018 2017/18 Enrollment Deadline The 2017/2018 4-H year enrollment deadline is fast approaching March 1st. Each member, leader and volunteer must re-enroll in 4-H each year online at: ne.4honline.com Returning 4-H Members DO NOT set up a profile. You already have an account. Your login is your email address. If you have forgotten or do not know your password, please select "I forgot my password". A temporary password will be sent via email. Leaders without family member involvement a profile was setup for you by the office last year. Your login is your email address. You will need to select I forgot my password to set up a new password. Profile information may have changed so it is important that everyone (youth and volunteers) update their profile before submitting. Please be sure to double check your address, phone number, and email address and update if needed. Remember that there should only be one 4HOnline profile per family. If you are having problems logging on please contact the Extension office. If you are new to 4-H and have never logged on to 4hOnline before, you will need to build your family profile. Each family should have one profile that lists all family members involved in 4-H. Morrill County Enrollment fees will be taken online with a credit/debit card only No cash or checks. Payment can also be brought into the Extension Office in the form of cash or checks. Your enrollment will not be complete until payment is submitted. There is no fee for Cloverkids do not make payment for those members. The office will complete & approve those enrollments online. Sheep and Goats must be weighed in. Breeding stock do not need to be weighed in Affidavits will be sent in the mail before beef weigh-in and sheep, swine & goat weigh-in. The Bridgeport Public Library was awarded a grant provided by the Nebraska Library Commission to encourage community engagement and new learning experiences. The Makers Space will be at the Library May 2018 September 2018. Some of the machines included with the Makers Space Kit include: 3D Printer, Laser Cutter, Vinyl Cutter, CNC Router, Embroidery/Sewing Machine, Heat Press, Camera/video kit, Music & Recording Kit and a few others.

Page 4 4-H Update March/April 2018 The Next Chapter program will be put on April 7th from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM for 8th and 9th grade students. Next Chapter at Nebraska is a college-readiness program that helps students prepare for and succeed in college by providing skills students need to reach their academic goals. The program is facilitated through Nebraska 4-H. More information will be mailed. Deadline to pre-register by March 29th YQCA The extension office will be offering one more Youth Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) training for youth participating in the 2018 Morrill County fair. This YQCA training or testing out is REQUIRED for all youth participating in county fairs. When: Monday, April 16, 2018 Where : Prairie Winds Community Center Time: 6:30 PM If you did not attend the last training please make sure you attend this second face to face, or you can complete the online module. Grant Prospect Show The Perkins County FairBoard is sponsoring a prospect show for Beef. SENIORS! The Morrill County 4-H Scholarship and Homemakers Scholarship have been sent to your schools guidance counselor. If you would like to apply for either of those scholarships visit your guidance counselor. The DEADLINE for both scholarships is MARCH 29th! BOX 490 Bridgeport, NE 69336 Submitting State Fair Animal Information into AKSARBEN Livestock Database A new and important change from past years is, exhibitors will be responsible for submitting their animal information into the AKSARBEN livestock database online themselves prior to the nomination deadline. The database now has the capacity to accept animal information submitted directly by exhibitors as well as payments for the DNA process. We will provide step by step instructions for doing this once the database is open to accepting entries. You will have the ability to edit incorrect information (wrong tag number, wrong birth date, etc.) up to the deadline. The County Extension Office will still continue to collect and mail in the DNA collectors to the AKSARBEN office by the respected deadline.
