AUGUST Comic Book Apocalypse: The Graphic World of Jack Kirby Main Gallery, and Design Center 24 Comic Book Apocalypse will exhibit 100 pieces of original artworks by Jack Kirby, the revered comics artist whose designs launched the Marvel Universe. The ugliness that prompted Graves outburst included the devices he came across because of his new disability. Wheelchairs, walkers, prosthetics, crutches and other assistive technology devices are part of our lives. But in the grand scheme of design innovations, they ve been left in the dust. There are hundreds of thousands of designs for glasses, chairs and tech of every other kind. This exhibition provides an opportunity for artists to design, build and exhibit these new innovations. NOVEMBER 6 Bang Bang!: The Works of Eva Malhorta (through Nov. 15) West Gallery, and Design Center Bang Bang! alludes to the beginning of time; a violent creation that emerged from the division of atoms and the inception of astral beings, constellations, universes, plants as well as its inhabitants. It also refers to the violence that results from the arbitrary divisions that humans build by race, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, political ideologies and economic status. These divisions isolate and destroy us along with the animal, plant and ecosystems. These are some of the themes that Eva Malhorta explores and represents through her work. 6 Guest ist Recital: Solungga Liu, piano Liu brings an exuberant program to the CSUN audience, including selections from a ricercata by György Ligeti, C.P.E.
