ORPHAN- This refers to a child whose father has abandoned the mother and child at or prior to birth. the child is called an orphan when the mother dies or an orphan is a child whose both parents have died. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The survey is a cross-sectional descriptive study aimed at describing the socio-economic effects of HIV/AIDs among commercial sex workers (CSWs) in Majengo slums. Nairobi. The study aims at establishing the various socio-economic effects of H IVIAIDs among commercial sex workers (CSWs). Participants will comprise of CSWs from Majengo slums. Nairobi. Sample size will be determined by fishers formulas. A structured questionnaire will pre-tested in Mukuru kwa Njenga slums which has conditions similar to Majengo slums and then administered by.-- trained data. The study participants will be informed and consented to participate voluntarily. Data obtained will be cleared and entered into computer using statistical package for social science programmes (SPSS). Analysis will also be done. Various presentation techniques will be employed like pie charts and graphs. The results and findings of this study will be given back to the CS Ws to educate them about various of HIV IAIDs and if there is any funding from donors they can start small business. The ministry of science and technology and other stakeholders in the health sector will make recommendations on how better they can deal with the socio-economic effects of HIV IAIDs " among CSWS in Majengo slums.
