July was an awesome month for our 4-Hers in Collin County! July 6 th was our District Record Book judging, where Collin County was well represented! Four seniors placed 1st in their Senior Record books and will go on to the State competition: Bayleigh Becker, Garrett Boone, Caitlynn Teel, and Carrie Duke. We also had many 4-Hers participate in a 4-H camp! Texas 4- H Congress allows 4-H members to experience the law making process first hand by writing, submitting, and then serving as a member of the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Press, or as a Lobbyist. From these roles, the 4-H members determine the fate of each bill submitted.

Other News: Awards banquet is coming up!!!!!! We once again are going to do a slideshow with pictures throughout the year! Please begin sending any awesome photos you might have of your 4- H adventures to Leslie Dockery! or Amanda, and she will get them to her. WELCOME! Chase Brooke to the Collin County Extension Office! We are very excited for Chase to join our team as the Agriculture and Natural Resources agent. Chase is a native Texan, and received his Masters from Texas A&M. Then, he moved to Michigan, where he was involved in graduate studies before coming back down here to accept the agent position. I m working on a picture! Chase will be a great asset to our 4-H kids and Collin County citizens.
