The clinicals were held in groups of 8 students in the Nursing Skills Lab. I was supervised by an expert nursing instructor as this experience served as my MS(N) teaching practicum. Nursing Assessment Columbia College Adjunct I taught advanced nursing assessment skills in a LPN to RN program. The course was an intensive 6 weeks in which I was responsible for teaching both the lecture and laboratory components. Community Nursing East Central Missouri College Adjunct This course was part of a RN to BSN program sponsored by Central Methodist University and I was responsible for both didactic and clinical sections of the course. Historical Perspectives in Nursing State Fair Community College Adjunct This course was part of a RN to BSN program sponsored by Central Methodist University and consisted of lecture and discussion. Character and Life Central Methodist University Assistant Professor I was invited to teach this is the Central Methodist University capstone course. It is a multidisciplinary course in which students complete a capstone project and have to opportunity to explorer their own values and character through discussion and essays. I will have taught this course for four semesters including summers. Instruction focused on theory and skill development needed for the administration of intravenous medication. The following courses were taught in the Dominican University of California in the BSN and MSN programs from Fall 2005 thru Summer 2011 during my appointment as Assistant Professor of Nursing Fundamental Skills Lab BSN Program 1 semester Students are introduced and gain proficiency in basic nursing skills. Nursing Research BSN Program 13 semesters Students gain appreciation and knowledge of nursing research and learn the importance of nursing research to clinical practice. They learn to critique studies and assess applicability to practice, Basic Patient Care BSN Program 12 semesters This is a basic fundamentals course with a basic med/surg component. I have developed and taught this course as a part of the curriculum change. I am presently the didactic lecturer, clinical instructor for this course. I also taught the fundamentals course one semester prior to the curriculum revision. Directed Research I & 2 BSN Program 2 semesters This is the first half of a two course series in which the students develop and present a nursing research topic as their capstone course for graduation. Clinical Teaching Strategies: Implementing Best Practices MSN Program 2 semesters This course trains clinical faculty and covers all aspects of nursing clinical instruction. Update 8/16/11 4
