The international arena has experienced an increment of criminal acts, increasing citizen s insecurity, both in a qualitative and quantitative level. Consequently, there is an increasing demand for professionals in the field of security to evaluate, plan, and manage these events. Consequently, the Security Management Diploma Program is a valuable tool providing theoretical and practical knowledge to professionals responsible for vital security tasks. Taking into consideration the current worldwide and regional state of affairs, Tel Aviv University and IDC Herzliya of Israel, the International Security and Defence Systems, ISDS Ltd., and The Export Institute of Israel (IEI) have developed an Executive Program for Security Managers, Decision Makers, and Key Officials. The program provides participants a diploma in a university level program that prepares them with the skills, knowledge, and tools to plan and develop proper safety measures and to protect against vandalism, delinquency, and terrorism. The program will focus on managing the task of providing security based on the security cycle: Threat Analysis, Risk and Vulnerability Assessment, Selection and Training of personnel, Security and Safety Management and Administration, Crisis and Emergency Management, Disaster Recovery, and System Auditory Methods. Introduction This intensive 14-day Study, Workshop, and Site Visiting Program has been planned to meet the needs of Security Managers, Decision Makers, and Key Security Officials responsible for Personal, Mega Event, Vital Structure, Building, Safer Cities and Venues, Mass Transportation (Airport, Sea Ports, Transportation, Terminal Buses, Train, and Subway), and Information and Communication Security. The 2 week program in Israel includes university level studies with theoretical and frontal lectures, debates and presentations, workshops, demonstrations and training, and practical and table
exercises. Moreover, the program includes visits to strategic security sites, high security institutions, and advanced technological industries in Israel. Program Objectives Tel Aviv University, ICD Herzliya, ISDS Ltd. and IEI are committed to: 1) Developing a group of high-level professionals specialized in the evaluation, planning, and management of security systems. 2) Providing the participants with practical tools to develop and execute their professional activities with a rigorous knowledge of the concepts, procedures, and practices. 3) Actualizing and training security professionals and decision makers to optimize their task performance. 4) Promoting the execution of integrative work. 5) Promoting the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of activities such as investigation, technical assistance, and enterprise consulting in fields related to security. Program Duration The Security Management Diploma Program s length is 2 weeks in Israel. This is an intensive program that allows high-level candidates to acquire a diploma in Security Management in a short period of time without compromising content. The program will take place in Israel and will focus on the Israeli security and protection concept, experience, knowledge, systems, methods, practices, and technological developments. The program will include practical training, visits to strategic locations, and tours to culturally relevant sites.
Dates The Security Management Program will be offered twice a year, once during the first semester, and once during the second semester. 2011 Dates SEMESTER I Program held in Israel; July 10 th July 23 rd SEMESTER II Program held in Israel; September 10 th September 24 th Cost The cost for the Diploma in Security Management Program is USD$ 10, 500 per student. The price includes all tuition expenses in Israel. Further, it includes hotel accommodations, meals, and transportation expenses (including to/from the airport, to/from the university) in Israel, and all trips and visits in Israel. All participants will be responsible to contract their airfare and visas if required.

PRACTICAL ISSUES Length of the course: Two weeks in Israel, Two 7-day weeks in Israel Certification and Diploma: Diploma in Security Management will be presented at program completion. Admission Requirements: Applicants for the Security Management Program must meet one of the following criteria: - A valid bachelor s degree - Belonging to a Law Enforcement Agency, Safety Agency, or Security Organization - Be a Military, Police, or Law Enforcement Officer - Previous experience in a security-related line of work - Take the admission interview Candidates with different qualifications may be considered for acceptance by the review board. All candidates will pass a background check and be required to provide references.
