ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENT CTCI Foundation 2018 Enterprise Visit for International Graduate Students 1. Overview: CTCI Foundation was established in 1959 as a non-profit organization and has committed itself to developing technological talents for Taiwan. In an effort to foster a better understanding about prospects and potentials of Taiwan s corporations and industries, CTCI Foundation has been arranging visits to Taiwan s prominent enterprises which are representative of their industries. The main goal is to bring together positive interactions between corporations and international talents. It is hoped that through deeper understanding of Taiwan s corporations with respect to industrial development, it will attract international talents to pursue careers in Taiwan. 2. Sponsor:CTCI Foundation 3. Itinerary:(refer to Appendix 1 and 2 for travel itinerary) (1) To visit InvesTaiwan Service Center for related issues on working, living and entrepreneurship in Taiwan, or presentation by ITSC. (2) To visit prominent Taiwan corporations through actual site visits, gain better understanding on prospects of corporates and Taiwan s industrial development. (3) Tours of local cultural attractions. 4. Tiers of Trips 1 : (1) Tier 1:July 3 July 5, 2018 (Tue. to Thur.; 3 days) (Appendix 1) (2) Tier 2:August 29 August 31, 2018 (Wed. to Fri.; 3 days) (Appendix 2) 5. Free of Charge: During the Enterprise Visit, CTCI Foundation will sponsor expenses such as transportation, accommodation, travel insurance, and attraction tickets expenses. 1 CTCI Foundation reserves the right to change, postpone or cancel corporate visit if the number of applications is below the requirement or due to uncontrollable weather conditions. 1
6. Number of Attendees: 30 Master or PhD degree students per each tier of trips. 7. Eligibility: International students, overseas Chinese students, students from Mainland China (including Hong Kong and Macao) or exchange students studying Master or PhD program in the related fields of science or engineering in eligible universities and colleges (refer to Appendix 3 for the list of eligible universities). 8. Application: (1) Online application is required for all applicants. (2) Please refer to CTCI Foundation website (http://www.ctci.org.tw/8838/talent_en/enterprise-visit_en/37895/37898/) for application details and information. 9. Application Documents: (1) Application form; (2) Research abstract or study plan (within 500 words); (3) Autobiography; (4) Other supplementary documents, such as recommendation letter, academic transcript, certificate of merit and so on; (5) Copy of student ID (both front and back side); (6) Copy of the ROC (Taiwan) Resident Certificate (both front and back side); (7) Copy of the passport photo page. 10. Deadline for Application:May 23, 2018 (Wednesday) 11. Notification of Acceptance: (1) After the panel review is conducted in early June, the admission list for each tier will be posted on CTCI website. All accepted applicants will be informed individually by email notification. (2) Accepted applicants MUST confirm attendance by replying email within five working days, as to be successfully accepted on the attending list. Those who either can NOT be reached via email, or unable to give email 2
confirmation will be disqualified, then the vacancy will be filled by others on the waiting list. 12. Participant Responsibilities: (1) Please follow the guiding principles and cooperate with the visiting activity guidelines. (2) Full participation and team action from each participant is expected during the whole enterprise visit. (3) Active participation and positive interaction are encouraged during the enterprise visit. (4) For safety reasons, participants should follow the instructions during the whole enterprise visit period. (5) Each and every participant is required to submit individual satisfaction survey within a week after the trip.
