June 2017 Dear Parents and Guardians, I hope you are all enjoying a peaceful and restful summer. Before we know it, our hallways will be bustling with students again. I am looking forward to the new school year and greeting our new and returning students. I would like to welcome our new co-workers: Mrs. Jaylene Murphy will teach our business education courses. She has taught high school in both Wisconsin and Illinois and has worked as a grant writer and manager in the business world. She has a Master s degree in Public Administration and Policy Analysis and certification as a business educator. Mrs. Michelle Patterson is a new addition to our theology department. She has a Master s degree in theology and has worked as a youth minister and a theology teacher in Wheeling, West Virginia and most recently at Barat Academy in St. Louis. Mr. Phil Crawford will teach computer courses and work in information technology support at UA. He has taught at Maplewood Richmond Heights High School and Assumption School and most recently worked as an Instructional Technology Coach at Confluence Academy. He has a Master s degree in Education and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Digital Transformation. Ms. Haley Armbruster will serve as the Administrative Assistant for the Campus Ministry and Mission Effectiveness departments. She is a 2012 Ursuline alumna and a recent MIZZOU grad with a degree in Political Science. In preparation for the upcoming school year, the following information outlines important summer information and dates. Class Schedules Students class schedules will be available online through Infinite Campus in mid to late June. When schedules are available, you will receive an email with specific instructions for access. Book Purchases Books will be available to purchase through Follett, our virtual bookstore, starting July 11. You will receive an email with more instructions in July. Library Card Information All UA students need a St. Louis County Library card for classwork at Ursuline. If you live in St. Louis County, St. Louis City or St. Charles County, please go to your local branch and apply for a card or make sure your current card is in good standing. Be sure to bring proof of residency (piece of mail, driver s license/permit) when you apply for or renew your card. For Incoming Freshmen living in Illinois, Jefferson County, or Franklin County, enclosed is a library card application. Freshmen will be given instruction on the use of the St. Louis County Library s website between September 1 and September 8, 2017. Each student must have a card by that date. Laptop pickup Laptop pickup date for all students will be scheduled in July, depending on delivery date of laptops. You will receive an email in July with further information. Lockers Locker numbers will be available on each student s Infinite Campus account. Sophomores, juniors and seniors wishing to set up lockers before school starts may do so on Wednesday, August 9, between the hours of 9am and 3pm. Food Service Ursuline Academy uses HMG Culinary Services to provide cafeteria service. Payments to a student s food service account can be made by bringing a check to the cafe made out to HMG Culinary Services, or made online at www.myschoolbucks.com. All students, including returning students, will have to create an account using their NEW school ID number found on their student schedule before they can purchase food. Students will use their student ID card to make food purchases unless they are paying with cash.

Yearbook Pictures Freshmen, sophomore and junior students will take yearbook photos on Community Day, August 16, during advisement. Photograph packages will be available for purchase through Lifetouch. You can access photo packages at https://www.ursulinestl.org/current-students /. Parking Passes Ursuline Academy parking passess may be purchased through SmartTuition. All parking passess will be delivered to students during advisement on Community Day, August 16. Freshmen Only - Enclosed Pink Cards St. Louis Secondary Schools Coalition is sponsoring a series of informational meetings for Parents of the Class of 2021. Each freshman must have at least one parent attend one of these sessions. Enclosed you will find a pink card with the dates and locations as well as RSVP details.
