Theta Crescent Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity Spring 2014 www.mizzouagr.com Missouri Nearing the end of the first semester, I have been very impressed with the way Theta Chapter has improved. With the transition to the new officer team, there has been no struggle making sure the men at Theta work to advance the legacy of excellence. The new officer team started off on the right path with holding an officer retreat at the beginning of the semester, outlining the main areas we need to focus on and really mend. All of the brothers of Theta know where our struggles are and collaborate to make improvements; this is what I am most proud of as the new Noble Ruler. Our chapter is continuing to grow from semester to semester. We work to recruit the best men that will hold the values that we all share as brothers of Alpha Gamma Rho. With the Theta website, alumni support, and active members giving names for potential new members, Noble Ruler Report our chapter will be growing to over 110 active brothers. With Greek life growing rapidly at Mizzou, we are excited to be growing and improving our chapter. I have no doubt, that this will be a good adjustment for Theta chapter to make. I am excited to see the men in our chapter, getting involved on campus and in the community. More and more brothers are putting a positive image on Alpha Gamma Rho and are representing our values greatly. I am proud to be a part of such a great organization and to walk the campus of Mizzou with the brothers of a premier fraternity. Fraternally, Kayden Guymon Ө 1782 Noble Ruler What s Inside Centennial Notes - Save the Date Homecomning 2013 And More...

Celebrating a Century of Excellence Lowell Mohler and Bill Hayen have accepted the responsibility of co-chairing Theta s Centennial celebration in April 2016. We hope you will all SAVE THE DATE and plan to attend one or more of the events that will be held in honor of 100 years at Mizzou. Plans are just beginning, but we hope to provide a variety of events over the three days of celebration. The Charter was signed on April 24, 1916 at 3 p.m. We hope to begin with informal get-togethers on Friday, April 22; follow up with a banquet on Saturday, April 23; and conclude with an event at the Chapter House at 3 pm on Sunday, April 24, 2016. If you have ideas of how you would like to celebrate, please contact us. If you are interested and willing to help with any part of the festivities, you participation is welcomed. Contact information: Lowell Mohler: meadowcreek2@aol.com Bill Hayen: SBHAYEN@sbcglobal.net Save the Date: Celebrating a Century of Success Mark your calendar and plan to join Theta Chapter on April 24, 2016. At approximately 3 p.m. on that day, we will reach the ripe old age of 100 years! Dinner with the Chancellor Theta Chapter was please to welcome our new Chancellor, Dr. R Bowen Loftin, for dinner on May 5, 2014. Also present for the occasion was Dr. and Mrs. Jim Spain, Vice-Chancellor of Undergraduate Studies, and BA president Mark Baker. Earlier in February several AGRs met Chancellor Loftin at the CAFNR Unlimited Banquet and Auction. Left: Pork Steaks and Chicken straight from the smoker! Left to Right: Andrew Daus, Ryan Eisenbath, Chancellor Loftin, Andrew Folta, Nathan West, Zach Knipp, and the smoker, David Snodgrass. Right: Kirby Fecht, Jacob Meyer, Chancellor Loftin, CAFNR Dean Thomas Payne, Connor Scott, and Kayden Guymon.

From the BA President As summer gets under way, the Building Association at Theta Chapter is gearing up to make some improvements to our house at 602 S. College. Work will be done on the interior of the house to improve ventilation and update the interiors of the bathrooms. On the outside, we are resurfacing our parking lots, which took a beating in the rough winter we experienced. In addition, we are in the planning stages of creating an improved patio area to the rear of the house. While several of these improvements are regular upkeep and maintenance, we re always looking for ways to make the Theta chapter house an ever better home for our brothers. If any of these projects sound like items of interest you d like to support, we re always welcoming of donations of time, money and skills! Two upcoming events that we d love to have you be a part of: Our 3rd annual Popp-McBee Memorial Golf Tournament will be held September 14th, the weekend of the Mizzou-Indiana football game. More information is available at our chapter website at www. mizzouagr.com/golf-tournament. The event is a great time to reconnect with brothers, old and new. There are several sponsorship opportunities for the event as well. Also, the 100th Anniversary of Theta Chapter will be celebrated the weekend of April 22nd, 2016. To get involved with the planning of the celebration, please contact me at 573-808-3060 or mbaker2000@yahoo. com. We re looking forward to celebrating 100 years of Making Better Men at the University of Missouri! Recruitment for the 2014 fall class is off to a great start. More than 150 Brothers and guests were present to honor Alpha Gamma Rho and the individuals that are this great Fraternity. The day began with registration and a continental breakfast, followed by the initiation of Brother Joe Parcell and the annual business meeting. The luncheon was held in Reichmann Pavilion at Stephen s Lake and an excellent meal was provided by Tubby s BBQ & Catering -- also our morning cook! Dean Thomas Payne provided the keynote address. Chapter scholarships and awards were presented, followed by recognition of our 10, 25 & 50-year initiates.
