Dear Friend, We must make sure our heroes receive the support they need as they return home. Many of our brave young servicemen and women, wounded or not, need our help. They have been forever changed by war while serving our great nation. Thousands are in military hospitals recovering from loss of limbs, traumatic brain injuries, or worse. Many need jobs. Others suffer from the emotional and mental scars of war. The American Legion is dedicated to caring for our wartime veterans regardless of what era they served, from WWII to Iraq and Afghanistan, and we can do even more with your support. Please help. A Prayer for Our Veterans Oh God, Our Heavenly Father, You have blessed us with brave men and women who are willing to defend our freedom. May Your protection and grace surround them each day. Let Your healing hand be upon those who suffer wounds and injuries. May those who have made the ultimate sacrifice rest forever in Your Holy Presence. Comfort the families who mourn and are left to remember the precious lives of their loved ones. Help us to honor and support them. Let us ever be mindful of each sacrifice made on behalf of the American people by our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, and friends. Amen.
