One-time Volunteer Agency Name: Finger Lakes Land Trust Contact Information: Jason Gorman, jasongorman@fllt.org 607.275.9487 Description of Need: If you have not visited the Houghton Land Preserve yet, or would like to help manage the preserve, please join us to clear brush, and cut back limbs from the edge of a large meadow that is managed for grassland bird habitat. As grassland habitat in NY continues to disappear, it is important to help maintain, and expand that which the Land Trust owns. Meet in the main parking area on Spencer Hill Road. Agency Name: Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon Contact Information: Amanda Kellerson, amanda.kellerson@gmail.com Description of Need: The running of the 4th Annual Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon is looking for volunteers to help as course marshals during the race. The race is a point-to-point race beginning in Uylsses, falling fast on the Black Diamond Trail and winding through the parks downtown, bringing the runners to the finish just shy of the Commons. Another epic post-race party will await them, and you volunteers, on the Commons with local music, soda, beer, and food. Volunteer perks include tickets to the post-race party, a volunteer t-shirt and a entrance into our Volunteer Appreciation Raffle. Sign up to volunteer before May 16th to be guaranteed your requested t-shirt size! Dates: Saturday June 16, 7:30am-12:00pm

Become an Achievement Coach (tutor) who engages students in their academic development by (1) encouraging them to see themselves as capable learners, (2) working with them to increase their understanding of key concepts in their courses, (3) supporting them to always give their best effort, (4) connecting with them to build trust and comfort, (5) helping them to identify their strengths so they can use them more productively, and (6) increasing positive peer support for academic success. Dates: Tentative Orientation dates are Thursday, June 28th or Monday July 2nd (2 to 3 hours). 2-4 hours per week for 5 weeks during Summer 2018 (July 9th to August 9th)

Youth aged 3-15 spend their entire days immersed in the fields, forests and waterways of undeveloped nature gathering resources, crafting tools, navigating the landscape, mastering fire skills and surviving limitless challenges together. Instructors will help craft our nature-based programs, facilitate positive group energy, and keep kids safe and engaged. Dates: June - August 2018

Connect to the Ocean Explainer: Enhance the guest experience by facilitating interactions with guests at the tide pool touch tank in the Connect to the Ocean gallery and get them excited about the animals, ocean sciences, and animal and habitat conservation. Animal Handling & Husbandry- Enhance the guest experience by facilitating animal interactions with guests in the Saltonstall Animal Room and get them excited about animals, biological sciences, and animal and habitat conservation. Horticulture - Assist with maintenance of the museum grounds such as planting, weeding, trimming, and mulching Dates: Training/orientation is held on a monthly basis.
