CALL FOR NOMINATIONS TRAINING FOR TRAINERS (T4T) WORKSHOP 2 nd 4 th April 2016 MILES BRONSON RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL, GUWAHATI, Dear Colleagues, BORJHAR, GUWAHAT, ASSAM, INDIA The Duke of Edinburgh s International Award Foundation Asia Pacific regional office is inviting nominations from experienced Award Leaders to attend a Training for Trainers (T4T) workshop. This workshop will provide experienced Award Leaders with an opportunity to exchange best practice and ideas in training, refresh some of their knowledge of the Award and be updated on the recent changes in the management of the Award. The Duke of Edinburgh s International Award Asia Pacific are pleased to deliver this training event at Miles Bronson Residential School, Guwahati, Borjhar in Assam, INDIA and wish to invite nominations from international Award Leaders. 1. DATES Saturday 2 nd April to Monday 4 th April The 3-day T4T workshop will commence on 9:00am Saturday and finish at 5:00pm on Monday. Participants should aim to arrive in Guwahati on Friday 1 st and depart on Tuesday 5 th. Guwahati Airport has connecting flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. The Miles Bronson Residential School is about 4km from the airport and transfers to the school will be arranged once you forward your flight details. 2. FACILITATOR The facilitator for this T4T workshop will be Rob Oliphant, Regional Manager, Duke of Edinburgh s International Award Foundation, Asia Pacific Region. 4. ABOUT THE TRAINING The T4T workshop is designed to provide delegates with: the knowledge to design and deliver engaging, inclusive and successful training workshops based on the latest research in learning methodologies a format for designing training that will engage the learner and make an impact long after any workshop, course or conference an outline of recent international developments of the Award including the Online Record Book and the Learning Hub strategies for Award Leaders to successfully operate and manage Award Units an opportunity to network and share best practice with experienced Award Leaders 5. COST AND CANCELLATION POLICY Delegate registration fee is US$400. The Miles Bronson Residential School has kindly offered to provide accommodation and all meals during the T4T workshop. Delegates will be responsible for their own international travel and transfer costs to Guwahati. The Asia Pacific Regional office will not be responsible for any personal costs. The payment of the US$400 registration fee must be settled 21 days before attending the course. If you cancel your booking, we will refund the full fee with 21 days notice or more, otherwise fees are nonrefundable. Substitutes can be arranged at no extra charge but changes to attendants must be confirmed with the APR office. Your registration will not be confirmed until payment has been received. The APR Regional office will provide confirmation via email. 6. ACCOMMODATION The Miles Bronson Residential School has kindly offered to provide accommodation and all meals during the T4T workshop from the evening of Friday 1 st April until lunch time on Tuesday 5 th April. 7. DELEGATE REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION The T4T workshop initiative is about building the capacity regionally and globally to improve the delivery of the Award.
In nominating to attend the T4T workshop it is expected that all delegates: are active Award Leaders who are familiar with the Award have delivered some Award related training in the past are willing to complete background reading prior to the workshop are confident in delivering training in English as a volunteer, be willing and able to commit to designing and delivering Award Leader training and mentoring two new Award units per year for the next 3 years The T4T workshops are limited to a maximum of 18 participants.
