Summary Of Quarterly Progress Report (2015) Activity Period Sensitization/Training of April-June, 2015 District Planning Committees for mainstreaming DRR/CCA October December, 2015 2. 3 Revision of CDMP inclusion April-June, 2015 of WDMCs and Evacuation Plan Completion of HRVA Publishing and Sharing Status Preliminary meetings with DPC under the Chairmanship of the District Collectors of East, North and South Districts carried out. The modality for having a consultative workshop was drawn out. In the East District, the consultative meeting was conducted under the Chairmanship of Honble Zilla Adhakshya, East on the 17 th of June 2015 in the District Collectorate Office, East District, Gangtok Training Programme was organized for DPC including Hon ble Adhyashays, Up-Adhakshyas, Mayor and Councillors of GMC. Officials of various line departments also took part in the training. The training was conducted with the support from Pragyan Consultancy on 30/11/2015. The CDMP was updated and Evacuation Plan of Gangtok city was prepared. The WDMCs was activated during the disaster events that affected the areas within the Gangtok Municipal Corporation during pre monsoon period 2015. July-Sep, 2015 The revised CDMP was under examination by DDMA/East and SSDMA October December, 2015 The revised CDMP (Response and Evacuation Plan) was printed in the form of a handbook. January March, 2015 Review of HRVA for Gangtok City was in the final stage of preparation. The inclusion of socio-economic data and department wise economic data is carried out. Simultaneously, GMC was assisting in updating other data.

April - June, 2015 4 RVS for selected Buildings in Gangtok City October December, 2015 April-June, 2015 July-September, 2015 The MHRVA report was presented before the Executive Vice Chairman and the State Relief Commissioner during a meeting held on the 28th of May 2015.The august house made a few suggestions which was incorporated in the report by the agency engaged for preparation of MHRVA. MHRVA report has been sent for final review and print. The Buildings/structures within Gangtok city for RVS was identified and approval accorded for the study by the state Relief Commissioner. Sikkim Manipal Engineering College was engaged for the RVS. A concept note and proposal from them was received. RVS was conducted at identified structures in Gangtok by Engineers. October-December, RVS was conducted for lifeline 2015 structures and report has been prepared and shared with SSDMA/UNDP. Trainings conducted for Engineers from various departments the state on RVS on 25/11/2015 & 3/12/2015. 5 Initiating Pilot Project on establishing GMC control room April-June, 2015 The GMC Control Room was established in the Gangtok Municipal Corporation Office located at Deorali. The Control Room was inaugurated by the State Relief Commissioner on the 18th of June 2015.The Control Room has since been disseminating information on any disaster event within the geographical jurisdiction of Gangtok Municipal Corporation.

6 Training to QRTs and CD members on Crowd Management and Traffic Management July-September, 2015 7 Conduct series of Training/Orientation Programmes for Senior and Middle level Officials of State Governments on integration of DRR and CCA. April-June, 2015 July September, 2015 8 Up gradation of SSDMA and City website (Phase II) October December, 2015 9 Formation of DMTs in one GPU July September, 2015 Through a bulk messaging system, people are made aware on Disaster preparedness too. A crowd control training cum drill was organized on 12th to 15th August 2015. The participants were QRTs, Civil Defence members and Ward volunteers. A meeting with the Director, AATI was held on the 27th of June 2015 and decision was taken to hold a workshop on DRR & CCA on the 30th July 2015 for the identified Senior/middle level officials of the State Government Meeting on Mainstreaming DRR/CCA into departmental plans with Deputy Secretaries on 27/8/2015. Work order for Phase II of up gradation of SSDMA website issued. Work is in progress. Formation of Disaster Management Team in a Gram Panchayat Unit was proposed and accepted by the PSC meeting held on 19th Sept.2015. October-December, Formation of teams as well as 2015 training to teams have been conducted at Kyongsla GPU in East Sikkim on 4/12/2015. In the quarter from January to March, 2015 residual activities of AWP 2014 were completed. The budget for AWP 2015 had not been received. The activities included:1. Completion of State Disaster Management Plan. 2. Completion of Report on Training Needs Assessment. 3. Completion and release of Animation on Earthquake and Fire hazard.

II. Mass Evacuation Exits identified at Paljor Stadium(26/1/2015) Mock Traffic Management Exercise (6/2/2015) Earthquake preparedness Drill 25th,26th,27th May 2015 Training of Manav Sewa Dal Brief Description of participants Quick response teams are made of up local volunteers under the Land Revenue DM dept. They are located in all the districts and Sub divisions of the state. They are usually the first responders in an event of a disaster. The basics of Drop,Cover and Hold was taught. Basic awareness and A day long sensitization sensitization to the volunteers /orientation on Disaster of Manav Sewa Samiti,Sikkim preparedness was conducted at Rangpo with basics on Drop Cover and Hold with evacuation exercise

Project Steering Committee meeting held on 19/11/2015 The participants to the meeting were Hon ble Member NDMA Sh. Kamal Kishore, Prof.V K. Sharma,Vice Chairman, Sh. G. Padmanabhan, Emergency Analyst, UNDP with State Relief Commissioner, Government of Sikkim and members of PSC. The key decisions taken were: 1. Change of activities under Output V. 2. Expediting the remaining works under AWP. 3. Overall satisfaction with implementation of project activities.
