They matter to us. We need to matter to them. The skills, tools and mindset of the millennials give this generation an unprecedented power to influence and decide the fate of organizations. This is why they matter. Millennials chose how to use their power based on their relationships and connections. This is why engagement matters. 6

Why did we create a next generation engagement program? The future of innovation in agriculture lies in the next generation. There is no better way to instigate the change the world needs than by helping to fuel the smartest minds out there to get involved. As a major player in the arena of food security, Syngenta has the unique opportunity to lead the next generation of leaders to feed the world. Like millennials, we believe in the power of technology and innovation to change the world. We are engaging these leaders by utilizing "next generation, progressive approaches that catalyze innovation and new forms of collaboration. 7

Our approach is built on the proven method to inspire innovation Problem Solution Young people are eager to make an impact, but don t understand the complex, nuanced issues surrounding food security. They often don t believe that multinationals play a positive role or offer opportunities that will nurture their entrepreneurial spirit. They desire mentorship, experiential learning, purpose and entrepreneurial freedom. Incentive competitions are a proven method to tap into the innovative power of the millennial generation to raise awareness, generate ideas and make an impact Our BHAG Goal: Inspire, educate, and incubate millennial-generation leaders to use their distinctive qualities and the powerful tools at their disposal to tackle the biggest challenge facing their future: how to feed 9 billion people. 8

Food security represents a massive opportunity and an even bigger responsibility Innovation is our best weapon Collaboration and sharing is more important than ever Answers can be found everywhere. As visionary leaders, creative entrepreneurs and passionate problem solvers, we have the power to ensure that everyone around the world has access to adequate, nutritious and safe food. We will design, create and build bold, new approaches to transcend current problems and will harness the power of technology as a positive force for change We will use powerful social media tools to rally people to our cause and increase understanding of the multitude of issues and incredible opportunities surrounding food security. Addressing food security is a colossal task, and we are enlisting all fields of study and experience to develop multidisciplinary solutions that break down traditional boundaries and make a tangible impact 27
