Join us for USD Grandparents Weekend! Grandparents Weekend was established in 2005 with more than 100 grandparents in attendance. The idea was conceived by Pat Whalen, grandparent of Holly Whalen 08 and Erica Whalen 12. Since then, Grandparents Weekend has continued to grow each year! Join us for the eighth annual Grandparents Weekend and immerse yourself in USD! Take a tour of the campus, meet USD administrators, attend Mass at Founders Chapel, take a trolley tour of beautiful San Diego and watch the Toreros in a spirited basketball game. The weekend is sure to reacquaint you with your student and the University of San Diego. We look forward to seeing you! The Whalens with their grandaughter, Erica. A delightful breakfast will be served at 9:15 a.m. and the program will begin at 9:45 a.m. Gra ndparents Breakfast San Diego Trolley Bus 10:45-11:45 a.m. Campus Tram Tour** MEET IN FRONT OF THE HAHN UNIVERSITY CENTER Take a tour of Alcalá Park in the comfort of a USD shuttle narrated by a knowledgeable campus guide. Departs at 10:45 a.m. 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. San Diego City Tour and Lunch** MEET IN FRONT OF THE HAHN UNIVERSITY CENTER Enjoy an informative and entertaining historic tour of San Diego aboard a comfortable trolley tour bus. The narrated, three-hour tour will cover many points of interest, including Old Town, the Gaslamp Quarter, Coronado, San Diego Zoo and El Prado in Balboa Park. The trolley bus will stop at Seaport Village for a no-host lunch. Advance tickets are required for all family members and seats are limited. Please indicate whether any passengers will be in wheelchairs. Ticket cost is $30 per person. Saturday, February 25 LUNCH OPTION ON CAMPUS Hahn University Center Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Reservations are encouraged and receive a 10% discount with your Grandparents Weekend name badge. 2:30 p.m. Torero Tip-Off Party** EAGEN PLAZA, JENNY CRAIG PAVILION All Grandparents Weekend participants are invited to enjoy a pre-game gathering before heading into the Jenny Craig Pavilion to cheer the USD Toreros to victory. Pre-game food and refreshments will be served. A cash only, no-host beer and wine bar will be available. Tickets are $10 per person. 4 p.m. Torero Men s Basketball vs. Gonzaga** JENNY CRAIG PAVILION Cheer on USD basketball in one of the most spirited games of the year! Please note: tickets for this game are limited. Adult and youth tickets are $25. USD students are free with USD student I.D., but students must pick up tickets in advance through USD Athletics and will be seated in a different section. If you would like to sit with your student, you must purchase them a full-priced ticket through the Office of Parent Relations. GO TOREROS! Beat Gonzaga!
