TRIA Orthopaedic Center Woodbury, MN RSP Architects 1

Where patients come first. Innovation has been a hallmark of TRIA s since 2005 when they opened TRIA Orthopaedic Center in Bloomington. Founded on the belief that their patients come first, TRIA was the first clinic in Minnesota to offer walk-in orthopedic urgent care. Today, TRIA continues to expand their innovative approaches in Woodbury. Offering comprehensive services in one place, TRIA has created a onestop-shop for orthopedic care in Woodbury to serve more patients in the eastern metro area Whether a professional athlete, a weekend warrior, or a child with a musculoskeletal issue, all patients receive the same excellent level of care and exceptional experience. 2 RSP Architects RSP Architects 3

INTRODUCING TRIA WOODBURY Innovation by design. TRIA Woodbury is a three-story, 78,000 SF clinic, offering the latest in orthopedic services, including consulting, walk-in acute injury care, and an ambulatory surgery center. The new orthopedic center was completed on a 27-month design and construction schedule. Building program: 38,000 SF Clinic/Orthopedic Urgent Care/Radiology 20,000 SF Physical Therapy Services 20,000 SF Ambulatory Surgery Center Cafe and retail space Sustainable features: Energy-efficient, long-lasting LED lighting throughout Access to daylight and views, including the ORs Timeless, durable, easy-to-maintain finishes Many locally sourced and manufactured materials FIRST IMPRESSIONS Laying the foundation. The diagram at left highlights the design intent for patient flow, departmental separation and views to the outdoors. 4 RSP Architects Revealing the offerings. The design direction for the project was to provide transparency. Allowing patients clear sight lines throughout, the clinic eases anxieties of those injured while supporting wayfinding. Each step of the healing process is represented by the physical space as the patient moves throughout the building. The open and transparent design empowers a patient to see that healing is happening all around them, and at all levels and degrees of care. From the clinical staffs perspective, transparency increases efficiencies and aids flow. The stacking of departments at each floor reflects this goal. This layout provides visual access to all departments and reveals the patient s journey through the building. Services offered at TRIA Woodbury: First TRIA location to use a navigatorpatient model in the clinic An orthopedic urgent care staffed by sports medicine-trained physicians A full-scope orthopedic and sports medicine clinic An ambulatory surgery center and program for hotel-based recovery The full scope of imaging services needed to assess musculoskeletal issues Therapy services including: physical, hydro, hand and concussion RSP Architects 5

LOBBY AND BEACON 1 THE BEACON The glass entrance, dubbed the beacon is the first impression of TRIA. In just one moment, it creates an iconic entry that can be seen from the nearby interstate, and symbolically reveals all the services that TRIA has to offer. The beacon looks magnificent during the day and glows with colored LEDs at night. 1 2 3 This outline shows the constellation Aquarius, which inspired the ceiling s lighting design. 2 IMPACTFUL ENTRY A soaring three-story lobby welcomes TRIA patients to the new care center, and provides a unique platform for an intuitive display of services. A navigator will greet upon entry and guide you through your journey. Complementary lifelike artwork surrounds you, depicting movement, wellness and people in all phases of life. 3 STAR LIGHT The lighting design in the beacon s ceiling takes the form of the constellation Aquarius. According to Greek mythology, the minor god Aquarius was the water-bearer to the gods. This design accent is a nod to TRIA s original location in Bloomington, Minnesota, where another water feature a waterfall welcomes guests to the building. 6 RSP Architects RSP Architects 7

1ST FLOOR CLINIC, RADIOLOGY AND AMENITY SPACES 2ND FLOOR THERAPY SERVICES 1 2 1 2 3 3 1 ORTHOPEDIC URGENT CARE: Open 7 days a week, TRIA s urgent care boasts a fast-paced neighborhood care model. 2 AMENITIES: Waiting patients and guests can visit the cafe and care store. 3 CLINIC: Exam rooms and care team spaces were specifically designed with an on-stage/off-stage model to eliminate waste in staff work flows. Translucent glass provides direct visual access to team members and enhances the patient experience. 8 RSP Architects 1 HYDROTHERAPY POOL: Two underwater treadmills with resistance jets and underwater cameras to provide state-of-the-art physical therapy. 2 HAND THERAPY: Treatment for all conditions of hand, wrist, elbow and upper extremities, including fabrication of both static and dynamic custom splints. 3 PHYSICAL THERAPY: Offers an indoor throwing lane, video-based performance analysis and surrounding outdoor views. RSP Architects 9

3RD FLOOR SURGERY & PRE- AND POST-OPERATIVE SPACES 1 2 3 2 3 4 1 OBSERVATION DECK: Provides critical access and context for training. 2 OPERATING SUITES: TRIA is the cleanest surgery center in Minnesota, thanks to the LifeSuite Air Filtration Management system, which delivers 3x the recommended HEPA filtered air. Each operating room is equipped with integrated surgical technologies, triple glazed windows and state-of-the-art anti-fatigue lighting. When turned on, this green lighting creates an ideal environment for surgeons by providing excellent illumination while eliminating glare on the monitors. 3 PRE-AND POST-OPERATIVE ROOMS: Spacious pre-operation rooms allow family and support teams to stay with patients until surgery. A separate discharge area offers privacy and views outside. 4 ADMINISTRATIVE: Daylight throughout all spaces provides a balanced working and healing environment. RSP Architects 11
