Notre Dame Foundation Annual Report 2008-2009
Dear Family, Friends and Notre Dame Alumni: What an exciting year we ve had at Burlington Notre Dame. Many of our sports teams enjoyed post season action; our marching band, dance team and choir received honors and accolades; and the spring production of Beauty and the Beast was simply amazing! We have a lot to be proud of at Notre Dame. The academic achievements of our Notre Dame students continue as well. Once again our students scored above state and national averages on the ACT, ITBS and ITED tests. The graduating class of 2009 was 100% college bound, and collectively received over $2.2 million in college scholarship offers. I encourage you to read this report to learn more about Notre Dame Schools and the Notre Dame Foundation. Thanks to your continued generosity, the Notre Dame Foundation is able to offer financial support to Notre Dame Schools as they work to provide our students with a quality Catholic education. Making a difference... one student at a time With over $2 million in managed assets, the Notre Dame Foundation supports a variety of functions within Notre Dame. Gifts from generous friends and donors support Notre Dame through the Foundation via teacher salary support, learning and technology needs, and scholarships for students. The largest impact the ND Foundation has had on Notre Dame is in the realm of salary assistance for our teachers and administrators. Since 1997, the Foundation has applied over $610,000 to supplementing salaries of our teachers and administrators. Our capital improvement and curriculum funds have also been a big help to Notre Dame schools. Funding facility improvements and updating educational resources ensures our kids have a safe, happy and nurturing learning environment. Scholarships have also brought Catholic education within reach for many Notre Dame students. Scholarships offered through the Foundation help an average of 15 students annually. The Foundation s scholarship monies have funded over 170 scholarships totaling more than $64,432 to deserving Notre Dame students over the past 12 years. Persons interested in contributing to existing funds, establishing new scholarships, creating a memorial fund, or donating to programs or capital projects are encouraged to contact the Notre Dame Foundation Development Director, 319 754-8431 x385.
