It was amazing meeting everyone and seeing such a strong Brotherhood showing at our Pacific Regional Conference over the holiday weekend. As always, if there is anything you d like to see in these newsletters, or if you have any feedback to give, feel free to email me at pardcomm@phideltachi.org! AAAE, Alyssa Mae Carrasco, Omicron #1836 Pacific Regional Director for Communications Billiards with the Bros of Alpha Psi Recruitment season started off with an exciting crowded night at Eddie s Billiards, where Brothers and potentials gathered to chat and interact. There were many tables where people teamed up and played friendly or even competitive games of pool, and many more people who chose to chat on the sides, not wanting to embarrass themselves. This Pool Night was very conversational, and gave the potentials a better idea of the brotherhood that Phi Delta Chi has to offer. There was a great sense of family and warmth in the room, which didn t just come from the body heat that everyone gave off. The brothers of Alpha Psi are looking forward to Recruitment 2 and all that Spring 2018 has to offer to our fraternity.

You re Invited! Beta Iota s 35 th Anniversary Calling all of Pacific Region to celebrate the wonderful milestone of Beta Iota s 35 th year! It will take place on February 17 th in Portland, OR. For more details, please email Anna Brecheisen at brecheia@ oregonstate.edu. Hope to see everyone there! AAAE The 2018 Pacific Regional Conference Omicron Chapter at the University of Southern California hosted the 2018 Pacific Regional Conference over the MLK holiday weekend on January 12-14 at the Radisson Hotel in Los Angeles. Brothers came from all over the Pacific Region to learn, grow, and connect through workshops. During the Banquet reception on Saturday evening, we heard uplifting speeches from the chapter advisors, Dr. Edith Mirzaian and Dr. Richard Dang, and keynote speakers Dr. Kevin Anderson of Beta Omega and Dr. Jeffrey Goad of Omicron. At the end of the weekend, we held our business meeting on Sunday morning to hear updates from the National Office, Regional Officers, and the collegiate and alumni chapters. We also discussed fraternity matters and elected our next Regional Correspondent, Anna Brecheisen. Here are a few words from her: Hello Pacific Region! I am very excited to serve as the next Pacific Regional Correspondent. I love PDC, and throughout my years as a Brother I have been given so many things. I can t wait to give back to this organization and all of my Brothers by serving in this position. Continue on to the next few pages to hear some words from Brothers who had attended the conference weekend!

Omicron - USC I was able to attend a variety of workshops that helped reinforce skills in leadership development and management. This allowed me to get a first-hand look at how fraternity operations were handled behind the scenes and the planning/collaboration that it took to make these things possible for other chapters throughout the region. Aren Sahakian Beta Iota Oregon State University We all enjoyed getting the chance to bond with our brothers from other chapters in the region, as well as getting to explore LA in our free time. An especially proud moment for us was when our WC, Anna Brecheisen, was elected the new Regional Correspondent. Shelby Stewart Alpha Psi University of the Pacific It was comforting to know that other Chapters shared the same sentiments and values as each other and especially rewarding to witness our voices and opinions being heard in an organized and respectful matter. The Pacific Regionals Conference provided a more intimate environment, in which more voices were heard in decision making. In addition, we were given the opportunity to connect and network with Brothers who are geographically closer to us, which encouraged the formation of even more lasting friendships. Sophia Liao

Gamma Iota California Northstate University A Brother stated, One of the highlights from the conference was having the privilege to participate in the formal meeting with Brothers all over the Pacific Region. The unity reinforced the notion that all Brothers of Phi Delta Chi are equal and that we share the same values no matter where we come from. Lee Yang Gamma Beta Pacific University One workshop that I attended was about how to get more alumni to attend events and participate. I look forward to utilizing the strategies I learned at the conference at my own chapter to increase attendance. Heather Johnson How amazing is it that brothers are coming together to try and make such a difference in future patient's lives, in supporting the amazing work that St. Jude's does, and in growing in our own leadership skills so that we are ready to go out and make a positive impact? Kelley Thurman I met wonderful people across the Pacific region that attended and even saw some familiar faces from other programs. Because of this trip, I look forward to attending future conferences and am excited to grow as a Brother. Lenny Yann Gamma Psi Washington State University I have heard nothing but positive feedback from the conference with so many brothers sharing new ideas and goals that they have for our chapter. This weekend has reinforced the importance of brotherhood, reminding our chapter that as long as we are brothers of Phi Delta Chi, we will never be alone. Casselyn Saechao

Gamma Theta University of Hawaii at Hilo I had a great experience meeting new Brothers from other Chapters and solidifying bonds with Brothers from my own Chapter. My first Phi Delta Chi Conference was a memorable one and left a lasting impression on me. I hope that we will be able to take what we learned from this conference and utilize some of the unique ideas and advice we received to help improve upon our Chapter. Cathlyn Goo Delta Zeta Keck Graduate Institute For many Brothers of Delta Zeta, this was our first large Phi Delta Chi event, and we all were astounded by how well the event was organized and run. It gave many of us the chance to meet and bond with Brothers from other chapters, attend workshops to learn more about fraternal traditions and policies, and even a taste of how to lead and facilitate workshops. This whole experience has us excited for Leadership Development Seminar and we cannot wait to continue making more memories in the future with our fellow Brothers of Phi Delta Chi. Brandon Nguyen
