A complete application satisfies the checklist on page 6, which means that all information asked for is provided, sponsorships are provided, and all signatures or email confirmations of signatures are in evidence. Qualifications and Committees for Membership Membership is determined by the Membership Committee, not by the Sponsor or the Applicant. Here are the guidelines that the Membership Committee follows: A Member is someone who has evidenced a sustained interest in some aspect of FOOD. Members are entitled to voting privileges when voting is deemed necessary by the Managing board and may serve as a sponsor for new members. All applicants are expected to be men and women, over the age of 21, of good reputation and of excellent moral and ethical standards. The Role of the Membership Committee The Membership Committee determines whether the applicant satisfies the qualifications for membership. If so, the committee determines the committee assignment and places the name of the applicant on the list for approval by the Board of Directors. If the applicant does not qualify for membership, the committee notifies the Sponsor, who in turn notifies the Applicant. All Charter Membership applications will be reviewed by the Managing Board until a Memberhsip Committee is in place. Dues Rates & Fees At the time of acceptance into the Krewe, a new member is assessed the annual dues payment. Dues are payable up to the day of the month notified of acceptance. Membership dues are not pro-rated, and are for the current Krewe year. After the deadline has passed, the name of the new member will be removed from the rolls. Annual dues are $350.00. A Word about Sponsorship and Unsponsored Applications As stated in The VooDoo Krewe Bylaws, sponsorship is a critical component of the application process. The VooDoo Krewe is a community built firmly on the fellowship of our members. Someone already a member must stand up in order for you to become a member of this group. Sponsorship is not required during this, our Charter Member, year. If you wish to join the Club and are without sponsorship, you may submit an application. If qualified, we will suggest a member who may be willing to sponsor your application. The best way to begin to learn about the Krewe and to meet members who may be willing to sponsor you is to attend one of our Social Events. See our website for a list of upcoming Social Events and Krewe Roster.
