Youn Impact Scholars 2014 Student Scholars Elissa (Elise) Densborn: motivated by a desire to address inefficiencies in, and increase the security of, the global food system, to address food health and environmental challenges world-wide, and to drive sustainable socio-economic development. Meladee Evans: plans to establish a social enterprise that provides resources to help minority communities build and sustain healthy businesses and offers support for upward mobility. Katherine Hand: wants to help scale innovations, solutions and programs that intentionally focus on creating sustainable sources of opportunity for disadvantaged populations. Aki Kita: plans to develop a local business / government strategy or an entrepreneurial concept that reduces the risk of starting a small manufacturing firm to create sustainable middle-class jobs in the least-developed countries. Charag Krishnan: wants to facilitate partnerships between corporates and the international development sector and leverage technology to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions for pressing challenges in primary education and global health.
Hult Prize Hult Prize is a start-up accelerator for social entrepreneurship that invites students from around the world to come up with business solutions to the world s most intractable social issues. Over 10,000 students participate worldwide Selected teams compete in 1 of 5 global regional rounds Regional finalists work in the Hult Accelerator over the summer Finalists pitch their ideas at CGI s annual meeting The Hult Prize Champion receives $1M in seed funding
