Application 1. The student will be asked to complete: (1) Personal information (2) Academic Information (* Please input correct OIA office address) (3) Personal Contact Information (4) Emergency Contact Information (5) On-campus Housing * Students can apply for on-campus housing in their application. Housing is first-come, first served basis in the order of application completion and admission. (6) Statement of Purpose 1500-4000 English letters (1500-2000 Korean characters) 1

Application Materials Applicants are asked to submit all of the following materials during online application process. Ewha requires only the digital documents for student s application. All documents must be prepared in English or Korean, and in JPG or PDF format. Standard ID photo Photographs should be in 3 cm x 4 cm size, scanned and saved in a JPG format. Official Academic Transcript A transcript which states the cumulative GPA is required to be submitted. If the home institution does not have a GPA system, a signed official letter from the international office guaranteeing that the applicant s academic achievement is over 75% needs to be submitted with the official academic transcript. Health & Medical Clearance Form Also Downloadable at the online application site Passport copy Please color scan the first page which has your name and passport number. IV. General Information 1. Tuition & Fees Students are expected to pay for the tuition and other fees after arrival at Ewha. Students are given an invoice at the New Student Orientation held before the start of the semester. All fees should be paid in cash at the on-campus bank (Shinhan Bank) or through bank transfer. No personal checks or credit cards will be accepted. Students will also be informed on using on-campus bank at the orientation. EWHA WOMANS UNIVERSITY Founded in 1886, Ewha Womans University is Korea s very first institution of higher learning for women. As a comprehensive research university, Ewha has 13 colleges and 15 graduate schools. The university s many internationally recognized research institutes encompass multiple areas of strength-law, humanities, and education-as well as new areas of excellence-science, technology, engineering, women s studies, international studies, and Korean studies. Ewha offers a co-educational international program and welcomes all students, both male and female, to study as a non-degree seeking exchange or visiting (study abroad) student. This program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students enrolled as a full-time student in any 4- year accredited institution of higher education. Ewha is located at the center of Seoul and students can gain firsthand experience of the capital city. The population of international students at Ewha is over 800(around 450 international exchange/visiting students and 400 international degree seeking students). The student will be immersed into an international environment where they can close bonds with peers from all over the world as well as Korean local students on campus. This program will help students learn more about the language as well as carrying out diverse activities needed for their academic studies. Academic Korean : 6 credits, 12 hours per week; 192 hours / semester Aimed to prepare students for successful academic pursuits 6 Levels : Level 1~4, Academic Korean 1&2 Practical Korean : 3 credits, 6 hours per week; 96 hours / semester Aimed to prepare basic Korean needed for everyday life 4 Levels : Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced EWHA PEACE(PROFESSIONAL EWHAIANS AT CULTURAL EXCHANGE) BUDDIES Making a new friend in a different country may seem difficult at first. The OIA offers a PEACE buddy program to help exchange students initial contact with Korean students and adjustment to new environments. The buddies do numerous activities for the international students, including helping them get acquainted to the Ewha campus and nearby Shinchon area, taking them to student hangouts and events, providing academic help, and arranging cultural trips. By interacting with the buddies, students will be able to expand their social network in Korea to other areas beyond the school and fully take advantage of what Ewha and Korea can offer.
