Mission & Impact Statements Mission Our purpose is to provide opportunities for service and fellowship among community leaders, and to encourage members to contribute their time, financial resources and influence toward meeting community and world needs, consistent with Rotary International's call to Service Above Self and to Do Good in the World. Background During the past three years, the Nashville Rotary Service Trust has re-examined the method for receiving contributions from members of the Rotary Club of Nashville. Members are now asked to make an annual contribution at the level they are able to contribute; rather than a designated amount. This has resulted in a significant increase in funds available for grants. Additionally, the Nashville Rotary Service Trust has narrowed it's focus areas to three: Nutrition/Hunger, Literacy/Education and Housing/Community Building. The Trust will issue fewer, more impactful grants going forward. Impact In fiscal year, 2016-17 contributions from Rotary Club of Nashville members to the Nashville Rotary Service Trust remained flush with just over $150,000 contributed. The Nashville Rotary Service Trust will continue to define the scope of grants to be awarded in three focus areas of: Nutrition/Hunger, Literacy/Education and Housing/Community Building. In fiscal year 2017-2018 the Nashville Rotary Service Trust made fewer and more impactful grants to organizations that have proven success in the three focus areas.
