Announcements Gate Hours during Holidays Main Post of Fort Detrick. Nallin Farm Gate will be the only open gate for ingress/egress 24/7 during holidays. Those holidays are: o Nov 24 25 for Thanksgiving o Dec 25 26 for Christmas o Jan 1 2 for New Years At Forest Glen Brookville Gate will be open 24/7 for Ingress/Egress for ID Card Holders and Visitors. New DPW Help Desk Number The help desk, also known as the Service Order Desk, has added the phone number (301) 619 HELP (4357). The (301) 619 2726 number will still work during the phase out period of 3 months.

AFAP Virtual Town Hall Jan. 11, 2 4 p.m. The Fort Detrick Army Family Action Plan virtual town hall will be held Jan 11, 2017 from 2 4 p.m. AFAP is accepting issues and concerns now. A Facebook page has been developed to collect issues. For additional questions or concerns call 301 619 3385. Pre retirement briefing policy AR 600 8 7 states that it is mandatory that all Soldiers receive a pre retirement briefing between the retirement application submission date and 120 days before the retirement date (or start date of transition leave). It is recommended that Soldiers attend the briefing as early as 12 months before their transitional leave/permissive TDY starts. Soldiers may attend more than one briefing during the separation process simply because of the large amount of information being presented. It is highly encouraged that spouses attend the pre separation briefing. Chambersburg/Greencastle/Hagerstown Vanpool Vacancy Anyone interested in participating in a vanpool please contact (301) 619 9980. They currently have an opening for their 7a.m. 4:30 p.m. work schedule. The pickup locations are Chambersburg (US 81, exit 20) at 5:30 a.m., pick up riders at Greencastle Shop n' Save parking lot at 5:55 a.m., and then pick up riders at the Hagerstown Park and Ride on Route 40 at 6:20 a.m. A mass transit subsidiary is offered to those who participate in vanpool(s). Toys for Tots Drop off Location: The Fort Detrick Fire and Emergency Services is a Toys for Tots drop off site. The box will be picked up on Dec 23. For more information contact the Fire Department at 301 619 2528 Operation Happy Holidays The 2016 edition of Operation Happy Holidays (OHH) kicked off Nov. 16 with both Recipient Applications that will be accepted through Dec. 1 and Support/Aid Registrations through Dec. 9 respectively. Recipient Eligibility: (FAMILIES WITH AT LEAST ONE CHILD LIVING IN THE HOME): 1. Active Duty Service members and their Families, E1 E5, assigned to Fort Detrick or Forest Glen, or residing in the Fort Detrick area. 2. Active Duty Families residing in the Fort Detrick area and NOT locally assigned. 3. Department of Army (DA) Civilians GS 01 04, and Non Appropriated Funds (NAF) employees NF 1 2 assigned to Fort Detrick or Forest Glen. Support/Aid Requirement: $25 per person visa/grocery/commissary card for each of the family's children (through HS seniors) valued up to $75. If you are unable to support an entire family, you are welcome to contribute visa/commissary/grocery gift card(s).
