Welcome to the Immunization Consortia Meetings and the 2014 Statewide Immunization Meeting These meetings will coordinate the efforts of local health departments in meeting State and Federal Immunization Action Plan goals and provide support to increase and sustain immunization rates of New York State residents. Consortia Meeting Objectives Discuss the 2014-15 Immunization Action Plan (IAP) Share strategies to achieve IAP workplan goals Provide updates on coalition activities Review Perinatal Hepatitis B case management issues Learn about AFIX and CoCasa changes Update LHDS on NYSIIS Compliance efforts and VFC Share successful outreach about vaccine preventable diseases to underserved, minority, and high risk populations Statewide Meeting Objectives Participants will identify disease outbreaks that impacted NYS in 2013 2014 Participants will identify lessons learned from current disease outbreaks Participants will recognize NYS role in understanding the current epidemiology of measles, congenital rubella, and tetanus Participants will identify lessons learned from Adult Coalition experiences that require crosscultural understanding and knowledge of regional needs Participants will identify successful tactics used in organizing and maintaining Adult Immunization Coalitions in NYS Participants will identify cultural characteristics of the Amish population to increase knowledge and understanding of their beliefs helpful for immunization information and assistance Participants will understand changes to the NYSDOH Public Health Law Section 2164, Revised Rules and Regulations Subpart 66-1 and how they will affect school immunization requirements Participants will learn about the type of educational materials being developed for school regulations and where materials for schools can be accessed Participants will understand barriers to increasing HPV vaccination in New York State Participants will identify ways to participate in NYSDOH s HPV vaccine initiatives Participants will identify ways they can use HPV communications materials with their partners
