He was appointed Chairman of the Board, and voluntarily stepped down at the request of the Board to personally manage the start-up of the OBDC. In 2009, he decided to dedicate himself to helping the economic development profession master place branding as a strategic choice for improving local community prosperity. He created the Strengthening Brand America Project as an educational platform dedicated to advancing a hands-on understanding of the craft. 2
