Purpose: To provide information and requirements for the 100th Year Anniversary commemoration of JROTC/ROTC. 2. JROTC Unit Responsibilities: a. Identify Distinguished JROTC Alumni. Identify two JROTC alumni from your unit who distinguished themselves in the military and/or civilian pursuits. Utilize the guidance and the form contained in the enclosures to nominate these individuals. b. JROTC 100th Anniversary 5k Fun Run/Walk. All 4th BDE JROTC units will participate in the JROTC 100th Anniversary 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, 23 April 2016, at 11:00hrs. In addition, all 4th BDE JROTC Instructors will register as a Host Unit NLT 19 Feb 2016. Upon registration as a host, you will receive a username and password to go into the active website to view and track the status of your JROTC unit. At the conclusion of this event you will receive an excel spreadsheet rollup of your unit's participation numbers and names. Run. c. Host unit registration is as follows: (1) Registration site is located at www.jrotcanniversary.com, click on 5K Fun (2) Click on JROTC/ROTC units-register here to host. (3) Complete all required fields. (4) Click send. You will receive a login username and password, this information will allow you to view the status of your JROTC unit's event participant registration. (5) All JROTC cadets and community members that are participating from your school, must individually register on your Host Unit site to receive credit for participation in this event. Procedures are as follows: Go to the website www.jrotcanniversary.com and click on 5K Fun Run Click on all participants & runners register here Type in the your state in everywhere and click submit Find your school and click on it

Note 3: Coordinate with your local media for positive coverage (see enclosure 2). d. Service Learning /Community Service Project. JROTC units will identify and conduct a Service Learning/Community Service project that provides assistance to others within your community. Your project will conclude on/about 30 April 2016. e. Conduct other events and activities on 100th year Anniversary of the JROTC/ROTC. JROTC units are encouraged to conduct other events and activities around the 100th year JROTC/ROTC anniversary. Examples are 100th Anniversary themed military balls, award ceremonies, pep rallies, cake cutting ceremonies, etc. f. Key JROTC 100th Anniversary events sequence. (1) 100th Year 5K Fun Run/Walk on 23 April 2016 at 1100 hours. (2) Nominate two distinguished JROTC Alumni on 05 February 2016. (3) Conduct a service learning/community service project which concludes on/about 30 April 2016. (4) Conduct other events and activities events in your JROTC units between 1 Oct 2015 and 01 Jul 2016. (5) Provide AAR comments to 4th BDE on the 100th Year Anniversary Commemoration on 08 Jun 2016. 3. Reporting and tracking requirements for all events are currently being developed by US Army Cadet Command. Guidance regarding these requirements will be provided in the near future. 2

Hall of Fame Instructions 1. Intent: The Hall of Fame is intended to honor graduates of the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps who have distinguished themselves in military or civilian pursuits. It provides a prestigious and tangible means of recognizing and honoring Army ROTC Alumni who have made lasting, significant contributions to the Nation, the Army and the history and traditions of the Army ROTC Program. 2. Eligibility: Nominee must have been commissioned through an Army ROTC Program. Nominations may include those currently serving in the US Armed Forces or those who have concluded their military service. There is no specific criteria for nomination and/or induction beyond the aforementioned description. 3. Nominations: Nomination for Hall of Fame induction shall take the form of a letter addressed to the current USACC Commanding General generally conformed to the promulgated template. In the letter, after identifying the nominee, it shall continue with a narrative of the nominee's life and accomplishments, contributions to the greater good, and other actions that favorably reflect Army ROTC principles and values (see example in Appendix 2). 4. Biographical Narrative: Letters of nominations must be 300 words or less. They should be written in the third person and focus of the nominees' major accomplishments that reflect favorably on ROTC, the Army and the nation. Some topics might include awards, accolades, accomplishments, career highlights, character, and personal contributions, particularly as they reflect positively on ROTC. Some suggested considerations to highlight in the narratives are listed below. a. Highest medals awarded (especially Silver Star and above) b. Wartime service record c. Senior rank attained during service d. Recognized civilian or military accomplishments related to service e. Extra-military career achievements; achieved national or state recognition for outstanding service to the nation f. Elected Official with distinguished record g. Distinguished civilian accomplishment following Army ROTC and military service 5. Supplemental Information Requirement: All nominations must also be accompanied with a nomination packet that includes the below information and documentation. Applications must include the following: a. Nomination Information Sheet listing name, grade mailing address, phone number, school attended and graduation date etc. (See Appendix 1) b. Copy of graduation, commissioning certificate or diploma (or equivalent proof) c. Description of military or civilian distinctions if appropriate. Include all documents which support achievements d. Privacy Act Waiver (Nominees who are deceased will require a signature from their closest next of kin or designated represented)

Hall of Fame Instructions e. Digital copy of Inductees' photo in Army Service Uniform, Class A uniform, or business suit. (Photo is from the waist up without headgear) f. Signed Hometown News Release (where applicable or desired). Fill out the See Appendix 5 or visit: https://ihns.release.dma.mil/publicicjandard g. Induction card (TBP) (complete following selection for induction) ***Programs whose college/university staff have submitted nominations without the supplemental information must coordinate to secure the necessary documents and information to complete the packet (See Appendices 1-5). 6. Exceptions: Requests for exception to policy of the criteria and packet contents will be considered on a case by case basis. 7. Selection Board: A voting board is used to select nominees to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The Board consists of the CG (Chair), DCO; CoS, select Staff Directors and/or Brigade Commanders. A majority vote is required for selection. The CG has the final vote for any split decisions. 8. Awarding Induction: HoF Induction will be awarded to alumni whose character, distinguished service, and stature draws wholesome comparison to the qualities for which ROTC strives, in keeping with the spirit of "Duty, Honor, Country." Selfnomination is NOT authorized and selection is not guaranteed. Inductees and respective programs will be notified upon selection. 9. Submitting Nominations: Nominations or further inquiries for the Hall of Fame contact 4th BDE JROTC. 10. Induction Ceremony: The induction ceremony date will be established by the selection committee. The 2016 induction ceremony will take place, 10JUN2016 on Fort Knox, KY in connection with U.S. Army Cadet Command' (USACC) 100th Anniversary Cake Cutting event the same day. USACC will host Hall of Fame banquet to recognize the accomplishment of all the inductees, 10JUN16. Nominees selected for induction will be invited to the ceremony --- but all costs associated with their attendance will be borne by the individual or the representative agency. 11. Induction Awards: Inductees names will be inscribed on bricks to be displayed on a walkway near U.S. Army Cadet Command Headquarters Building. The brick pathway will be presented on the day of the ceremony. All Hall of Fame Inductees will receive Hall of Fame Certificate at the time of their induction and a second certificate will be mailed to the respective University or program attended.

Example Nomination Letter and Narrative SUBJECT: Nomination of Major General (Retired) I. M. Supply to the Army ROTC Hall of Fame Dear Hall of Fame Induction Committee Members It is with great pleasure that I nominate MG (Ret) I. M. Supply to the Army ROTC Hall of Fame. As a highly respected logistician, mentor, and leader, MG Supply contributions the nation are exemplary. Enlisting in the Army in 1949, MG Supply embarked on a thirty-nine year career of dedicated service. He served in multiple CONUS and overseas locations and commanded at all levels up to his final assignment as the Commander, U.S. Army Troop Support Command. He commanded a battalion and a Regional Support Activity under combat conditions in Vietnam as a Lieutenant Colonel and commanded for nine of his last twelve years in the Army. As the Chief of the US Army Computer Systems Command Software Branch, he revised the operating concepts of CS3 that were required for demonstration at Corps Level. As the Chief, Systems Development Branch, AMC, he welded together the Direct Support System (DSS), In-transit Asset Visibility and the Logistics Intelligence File. While at DCSLOG, MG Supply was at the forefront of logistics automation and supply policy. Under his leadership, the first Total Army World Wide Supply Conference documented, prioritized, and solved major logistics issues. Through this forum, he established Army-wide support for the Chief of Staff, Army Supply Excellence Award which today provides significant motivational benefits for our soldiers. Upon leaving the service in 1988, MG (Ret) Supply continued to support the Army. He worked for Raytheon Corporation as the Logistics Manager for the Patriot Missile System -- - a position he held during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He earned the Department of the Army Outstanding Civilian Service Award for his efforts. Select MG (Ret) Supply for the Army ROTC Hall of Fame. He has justly earned this esteemed honor.
