PART A - SECTION SUMMARY A.1 Executive Summary Major activities IEEE Thailand Section Report for its 2006 activities 1) 12 monthly executive committee meetings helded. 2) 1 annual general meeting with Dr. Sittichai Pookaiyaudom giving a talk about his IEEE fellowship, the first Thai person ever to receive it. 3) host the IEEE R10 meeting 26-27 March 2006 at Chiang Mai. 4) establish a new joint PEL/IAS/IES chapter. 5) support 6 international conferences. 6) create a project to publish a Thai book about IEEE virtual museum, to be donated to high schools around the country. 7) support the translation of articles in IEEE spectrum by the National Telecommunication Committee. 8) elevate 3-4 members to a senior membership. 5 PART D - OTHERS D.1 Relationship with National Societies - None D.2 Special Events : This year marks the 30th anniversary of Thailand Section. A project to support the high school education in Thailand was created and supported by IEEE Foundation. Staff at Chulalongkorn University have volunteered to translate IEEE Virtual Museum into Thai. 5000 books have just been published and will be distributed to more than 2500 high schools around the country.
