Today we acknowledge a new beginning for us all and to work collaboratively in partnership together as one, as was versioned by our ancestors for the future of our people. With your food basket and my food basket we can feed the world Company Profile Mana Mental Health Services was established in the community in 2001 to identify what the needs were for consumers/tangata whaiora in the Lakes District. Originally the Service contracted itself as a Consumer Consultancy Service to the DHB & NGO Sector. All short term contracts carried out by the company provided the community of the Lakes District a free Peer Support/Advocacy Service. On May 6th 2004, Mana Mental Health Services was registered under the Incorporated Companies Act 1993 and was officially open to the communities of the Lakes District Health Board Region. Mana Mental Health Services still continues to contract itself out to Government Agencies as a Consumer Consultancy and Project Service Agency. In November of 2005, Mana Mental Health Services secured a Consumer Peer Support & Advocacy Contract through the Lakes DHB, which has seen a new team of four employed in February & March of this year, to provide a service to our communities. Company Director Gavin Pike Initiated the Company in 2001 to identify the needs for better quality of services for those using mental health/addiction services, within the Lakes District Health Board Region and also his own personal experience as a past service user. His experience and expertise in both mental health and addiction services has positive changes within the health sector. Gavin Pike has continued to insure greater opportunities for consumers working in the field of mental health. Company Director/Health Promotions Hui-Aroha Mareikura Appointed in June 2006, current background in Mental Health Services. Moved to Rotorua 2003 from Ohakune. Brought up on Maungarongo Marae with a very strong upbringing of Maori tikanga and kawa. Has been involved in funding and grants for both her Marae and other providers. Has an accounting background with administration being her main profession. 2

Kaumatua Arama Pirika Kaumatua of Te Arawa, Te Roro-0-Te Rangi, currently employed as Pou Awhina for Po Te Atatu - Maori Mental Health Team for Lakes District Health Board. Personal Assistant Alison Lamberton Appointed in February 2006. Has an extensive background in administration, including accounting services and general running of a busy office, including debtors, creditors and payroll systems. Achieved Accounting 1 at Waiariki Poly Tech and has attended Kiwi Host courses for administrators. Peers Support Specialist Alice Batkin Peer Support Specialist - Jackie Thompson Peer Support Specialists- Terry Dalzell Re-appointed in December 2008. Has a background consisting of working with people with disabilities; assisting in employment issues, including placement and job coaching. He followed up on work sites regularly talking with both employers and employees. He is able to assist individuals to create CV s and employment job search plans.
