THE 26 th GRADUATION CEREMONY Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the 26 th Graduation Ceremony for the 2011 academic year on November 29, 2012 at the auditorium of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Phrathumthani province. There were 2,983 graduates from 4 campuses of RMUTSB who were conferred the degrees in the morning. For this year, five distinguished persons were chosen to receive honorary degrees for their achievement and their contribution to the university and society at large. Honorary Degree Honorary Master s Degree in Liberal Arts was awarded to The Most Venerable Phra Thep Jetiyajan ( Luangphor Viriyang Sirindaro ) for his outstanding contributions to Buddhism. He has established the Willpower Institute in Thailand as well as in other countries such as Canada, and the U.S.A. The training course has been officially approved from Canadian government. The course aims to support interested people without expecting anything from them in return. With his writing ability in both Thai and English he has produced several Thai and English textbooks on meditation such as High Meditation Instructor Course. And with his sustained and exemplary service mind to society, he teaches and develops of people s continuously. At Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi Huntra, he kindly granted permission to open a meditation course for students, and the university staff to improve their mental and emotional well being. This has resulted in better professional and academic performance. Honorary Master s Degree in Liberal Arts was awarded to Mr.Thapakorn Disayanan for his remarkable success in entertainment industry. He is currently the president of Kantana Training Center and the director of Kantana Movie Town (2002) Co. Ltd. He started his career as an actor in T.V. soap opera. Then he worked as an assistant to director and became a director himself. He also worked as a host in a lot of T.V. programs. He has got several awards as the main actor he had performed. His success in the area of entertainment industry has been -recognized. Presently, Kantana Training Center is a private education institute under the Ministry of Education. This institute has been widely accepted by the administrative persons of acting schools, especially, the production of T.V. soap opera. As an administrator, he is a vital force and support for development of curriculum relating to Thailand entertainment industries. The curriculum contains every process of production and each process has been well integrated. He has also disseminated the curriculum to public so that anyone who wishes to learn about T.V production can apply it to their daily life and career. With high motivation to develop his profession and improve people s skills in various areas of entertainment, he has applied the academic concepts in work. He has been fully accepted as an inspiring example of valuable contributions to the Thai Society. News & Event Honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Administration was awarded to Dr. Prasarn Triratworakun for his outstanding achievement in Business Administration and Financial Management. He is currently the 22 nd Governor of the Bank of Thailand. He has worked in the top positions in a number of public and private organizations such as Director of the Financial Reform Advisory Committee, Ministry of Finance, Director of State Enterprises Capital Policy Committee, Advisor of the Financial Institutions Policy Board of the Bank of Thailand, Trustee of Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), Member of Economic Policy Working Group, Ministry of Finance, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand and Kasikornbank Pcl. Having great achievement in his work as the Governor of the Bank of Thailand, he received the award of Central Bank Governor of the year for Asia (2011) given by Emerging Markets, Euromoney Group in September 2011. Moreover, he has devoted to education. He has been appointed to be a member of Steering Committees on Graduate Programs in Finance Chulalongkorn and Thummasat University since 1999, and a council member for Chulallongkorn University since 2008. With his service mind to society, he has also been working as Executive Director for Thai Red Cross Society since 1998. With his great success in his career, his devotion to education and society, the University Council of Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi proudly offered him the Honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Admisitration. Honorary Doctorate Degree in Management was awarded to Mr. Adirek Sripartak for his notable success in management. Mr.Sripartak is currently the Chief Executive Officer for Chareon Pokphand Foods Pcl. He is one of the most well -known professional in business management. He has specifically devoted himself to support various institutions about educational management. He supports CPF Future Careers Project to happen. This is a student preparation to their future career. He has also established CPF Ambassador Program in order to provide an opportunity for students to closely learn the production process of CPF. With his wide vision of education, he has encouraged his CEOs to join the learning and teaching courses in order to share their knowledge and skills to the graduate students in a number of universities. His creativity, social awareness, as well as knowledge and skills have contributed high benefits to students, educational institutions and society at large. His devotion has been widely recognized. In 2013, the award of SET CEO of the year was acclaimed to him by Bloomberg Businessweek Thailand. Mr.Sripratak supports RMUTSB Nonthaburi when one side of the university was used as a flood victim camp. His assistance involved location management, kitchen management, process of cooking and transportation. He also disseminated the working of university publicly, so the other organizations visited the camp and supported the flood victims and some visitors have learned how to manage the other flood victim camps. His exceptional talent and great achievement in his career as well as his continuous devotion to society and education has been widely known; therefore, the university council has offered him the Honorary Doctorate Degree in Management. Honorary Master s Degree in Agriculture and Technology was awarded to Mr. Rewat Watcharatai for his greatest success in beef cattle. He currently works as the chief executive officer for Lung Chao Farm Company. He also works as a director for Lung Chao Organic Fertilizer Company and for Beef Pro and Beef Pack Company. He also works as a strategic director of National Beef 2012. His creativity and attempt of searching for new knowledge have been recognized as a life long endeavour. He was locally and internationally recognized as a truly outstanding agriculturist.with knowledge and experience, he has devoted to development of education and community. He opens his farm to be a place of study on beef cattle for apprenticeship students. He is one of the educational committee in Suphanburi College of Agriculture and Technology. He gives lecture to several universities as well as RMUTSB. He is a consultant and committee in Thai 3 Brahman Breeders Association.

10 th Anniversary of Thailand OTOP Product Asst.Prof.Tosporn Namhong and his colleagues from Department of Food Science and Technology were chosen to be the judges of Product Champion Contest arranged by the manufacturers of Department of Community Development, Ministry of Interior. About 350 kinds of products such as fermented sausage or Nam (in Thai), traditional sausage e.g. Moo Yor, Kun Chiang (in Thai) were sent to the contest. The evaluation criteria was established in respect to the impressiveness as well as the microbiological analysis at RMUTSB laboratory. The products selected will be labeled as 4 -star and 5 -star products. The selection was held at Meaung Thong Thani, Nonthaburi during 19-28 December 2012. News & Event HIDA Japanese Language and Culture Course In consequence of the visit of Mr. Hiroyuki Yoheda and the delegates from the Overseas Human Resources Industry Development Association ( HIDA ) on September 21, 2012, the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture launched a Japanese language and culture course. In this regard, HIDA sent the Japanese teachers to teach Japanese language and culture to the 3 rd and 4 th year engineering students in order to prepare them working for Japanese companies in Thailand and in Japan. The instruction courses were held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from November 14, 2012 to February 20, 2013. On 9 September 2012 Asst. Prof. Chariya Hasitpanitkun RMUTSB President presided over Songpunburi Hotel to have a reception to Prof. Dr. Witsanu Kreungam, President of RMUTSB University Council and Prof. Wijit Srisaan, Vice -President of Chulabhorn Research Institute on an occasion of the opening ceremony for the seminar entitled Roles of Administrators on Accelerating Universities to ASEAN Community. This seminar was held by RMUTSB and the university was honored by Prof. Dr. Witsanu Kreungam and Prof. Wijit Srisaan to be the key note speakers. News & Event 4 th Business Administration Suphanburi Game On 12 th and 13 th September 2012 at RMUTSB Suphanburi, 1040 students in Accounting, Information Technology and Business Computer and Management attended the 4 th Business Administration Suphanburi Game. The event aimed to enhance the students recognition of how to use their free time properly, to raise an awareness of students to cooperatively work on the extra -curriculum activities, and to build up better health and skills. 17 th Blue and White Night of Accounting Reunion On December 8 th, 2012 at RMUTSB Suphanburi, about 520 (undergraduates) students welcomed the alumni students home. The reunion of Blue and White Night took place in order to build a close relationship among the present and alumni students as well as teachers This also encouraged their sense of belonging to the university and their place of study, provided a chance for the present students to get in touch with the more experienced persons of the field, and to keep up the tradition of Blue and White Night. Mobile Service of Phra Dabos Foundation Phra Dabos Foundation and RMUTSB gave their 82 nd and 83 rd service to the people in the Ngim Sub -district Administrative Organization, Pong District, Phayao Province and in the Chohae Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Muang District, Phrae Province. The service activities included repairing of agricultural machines, barbering and donating 10 wheel -chairs made by Faculty of Industrial Education, RMUTSB. 5

Workshop Seminar on Researcher Development On 14 th December 2012 at Maharaj Conference Room, Academic Service Building RMUTSB Wasukri, fifty researchers from different sectors of the university participated in the workshop seminar on researchers development. The participants practiced their abilities in writing research proposal for any research grant. News & Event Welcome Miss Tourism World 2012 to Ayutthaya On 2 nd December 2012 at Wat Chaiwattanaram Ayutthaya, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Phra Nakorn Si Ayutthaya Office, Ayutthaya Province as the host to the Miss Tourism World Pageant 2012 and Media Empire Company welcomed 60 finalists to Ayutthaya. On this occasion, RMUTSB was called upon to host this event. Asst. Prof. Chariya Hasitpanitkun RMUTSB President, Dr. Sasidhorn Soonklang Assistant to the President, Mrs. Narumol Chanyam Dean of Liberal Arts led the university staff and students promote tourism, culture and the art of Ayutthaya. The finalists learned from the students and people some local wisdom such as how to craft from locally found plants. 6

International Collaboration MOU between RMUTSB and CompTIA On the, 12 th November 2012 at Kalahom Rm. RMUTSB Wasukri, Asst. Prof. Chariya Hasitpanitkun, RMUTSB President, had a formal meeting with Mr. Terry Erdle, Vice -President of CompTIA in order to sign the MOU between RMUTSB and CompTIA. The main objective was to advance RMUTSB students with CompTIA international standard, vender neutral and globally recognized skill certification to contribute to global ICT industries. The signatory agreement was witnessed by RMUTSB administrators and CompTIA representatives. MOU between RMUTSB and gtslearning On 5 th November 2012 at Durian -Non Rm. RMUTSB Nonthaburi, Asst. Prof. Chariya Hasitpanitkun RMUTSB President had a formal meeting with Mr. Robin Adda, Executive Manager of gtslearning in order to sign the MOU between RMUTSB and gtslearning. The main objective was to cooperatively work on Comp TIA A+ curriculum and translate gtslearning textbooks into the Thai language. Before the meeting both granted the press an interview in this regard. Review of the Q.A. Indicators and Increase of Q.A. Link On December 13 th, 2012 at Kalahom Rm., RMUTSB Wasuki, the deans of Business Administration namely; Asst. Prof. Paisan Burinwattana, Asst. Prof. Rujee Parsukri and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Padcharee Minrawong from RMUTSB, RMUT Ratanakosin and RMUT Tawan-ok had a formal meeting in order to sign an MOU agreement. The MOU was aimed to review the quality assurance (Q.A.) indicators and increase of Q.A. link. The agreement was witnessed by Asst. Prof. Pranee Panwichien and the administrators. After the signatory agreement, the seminar on Review of Q.A. Indicators and Increase of Q.A. Link took place during 13-17 December 2012. The seminar was also aimed to have the sharing of ideas among the participants. 7

1st International Symposium on Imparting Wisdom and Improving Quality of Life Nine Rajamangala Universities of Technology launched their 1st International Symposium On Local Wisdom and Improving Quality of Life (ISLWIQL). This symposium was one of the activities in the project of improvement of quality of life. 84 -community participatory projects which were set up to honor His Majesty the King on occasion of the celebration of the King 84 th Birthday. The symposium took place during 8-10 August 2012 at Royal Park Rajapruek, Chieng Mai Province. The activities were debates, exhibitions, achievements of scholars from ASEAN, paper and poster presentation. Interviews with the Management of Global IT Organization ComTIA Asst.Prof. Chariya Hasitpanitkun, President of RMUTSB, and Mr. Terry J. Erdle, Executive Vice -President of The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), have signed the MOU agreement. This event was witnessed by RMUTSB administrators, Mr. Dennis Kwok and Jean Tang, the Vice President Asia Pacific Region and Regional Director South East Asia respectively. CompTIA is a provider of professional certifications for the information and communication technology. CompTIA was established for more than 30 years. They mainly manage professional certifications for ICT such as security+, Network+, Cloud, Mobile Computing. They also provide knowledge to ICT industry via training. According to Jean Tang, the Regional Director in Southeast Asia, RMUTSB was chosen from other universities to have an MOU with their company for the reason that she had observed RMUTSB s educational system and the students were fully trained to become engineers and technicians. She affirmed it after walking through the institutions laboratories, classroom teaching, and students learning. Additionally, RMUTSB is in charged with the training course on repairs the government tablets for elementary students. They realized that they could elevate RMUTSB people s knowledge and competency to reach ICT international standard and more importantly, they need to have a strong partner in Thailand. Advisor Asst.
