Special Site or Project Requirements A. Contactor is required to contact the facilities manager at each campus prior to work. The facilities manager at each campus may arrange a pre-construction meeting to discuss protocols for work completed at each campus. Without prior notification, Campus Safety may ask the Contractor to leave the site. B. Operating hours; work allowed during off hours upon notification. Monday through Friday: typically 6:00am to 6:00pm During summer session there are no classes on Fridays and most of the campuses are on a 4 day-10 hour (M-Th) work schedule. The Facilities Department will have personnel on site to grant Contractor access to the project site on Fridays. Weekends: As scheduled with the Facilities Department and Campus Safety Office. C. The Contractor should be aware that various MCCCD campuses have blackout dates for special events; Contractor should contact the facilities manager for blackout dates at each campus. D. All work performed at the campuses must be done in a way that will minimize traffic interruption and not impede student operations. The Contractor is responsible for traffic control within the vicinity of the work. A traffic flow modification is required and must be approved by the facilities manager of each campus prior to the start of work. E. All work requests from facilities managers that are not included on the plans, Vol. II must be brought to the attention of Terracon Consultants, Inc. and subsequently to the District Facilities Planning for approval. Requests can be submitted via email, phone call, or fax. F. The Contractor is required to visit the sites to confirm quantities prior to bidding the project. G. The Contractor will be required to submit a schedule of values to the Consultant prior to the work. The schedule of values must be broken down per campus per work description. A sample of the approved schedule of values will be included in Addendum 1. H. Unit costs for crack sealing and asphalt concrete crack mastic will only apply for additional work authorized for any pavements not included in the plan set, Vol. II. All crack sealing included on the plans sheets will be paid for on a lump sum basis per parking lot. I. Scottsdale Community College falls under the jurisdiction of the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC). The SRPMIC also has specific tax, business license and other requirements of contractors. Please contact SRPMIC to ascertain all of the costs and requirements for work in the Community. A list of approved contractors and suppliers is listed on pages 35 and 36 of the Contract Conditions section of the project manual. SRPMIC requires any contractor who is doing ground disturbance within the community must attend a two-hour class in cultural sensitivity training. This requirement is in compliance with page 34 of the Contract Conditions section of the project manual. J. All wheel stops shall be removed prior to microsurfacing or reconstruction. Removing and resetting of wheel stops is considered incidental to the work. Any damaged wheel stops shall be replaced with a new wheel stop and will be paid for by the unit cost (Item 7 of the Project Manual). Resetting of wheel stops shall be in a manner consistent with the original layout, unless otherwise directed by the facilities manager of the individual campus. K. The Contractor shall sweep the microsurfaced lots clean of loose aggregate a minimum of three weeks after the application. Pavement sweeping shall be in accordance with Section 900 of the project specifications. The schedule for sweeping of the lots shall be arranged with the Facilities Manager of each campus. Sweeping of the microsurfaced lots is considered incidental to the microsurfacing work. L. Lots programed for microsurfacing shall be striped with a second coat of paint. Application of the second coat shall be completed a minimum of three weeks after application of the first coat and after the completion of the mandatory pavement sweeping. M. The 2018 District Wide Pavement Maintenance project includes a $25,000 allowance. The $25,000 allowance should be added to the base bid amount submitted to the District. The allowance may be used to pay for cement stabilization of subgrade soils if required and approved by the Consultant and/or work requests from various campuses. N. The 2018 District Wide Pavement Maintenance project includes a Bid Alternate 1 at RSC @ Southern. The work includes pavement reconstructions, concrete curbing and flat work, ADA ramp, and striping per plans. The bid amount for Bid Alternate 1 should be included in the Form of Proposal, page 3 and should be separate from the Base Bid amount. Bid Alternate amount should include all applicable sales tax. 7. Questions from Contractors RSC- Southern: Reconstruction of the asphalt pavement at this location should be limited to as few construction phases as possible. At least one entrance to the site from Southern Ave should remain open at all times during construction. All bidders will be notified by Techniprint once Addendum #1 is available. All bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of Addendum #1 by the selected method (signature, log-in, etc.) executed by Techniprint.
