International Conference on Sustainability & Management Strategy ICSMS-2018 September 28-29, 2018 Visit: http://www.imtnagpur.ac.in/icsms2018/ - In Collaboration with CSIR-NEERI Nagpur & CSUSB United States -

The scope of the Conference Decades of development pursuits and innovation have contributed to remarkable economic growth, but have left irreversible effects on our planet s ecosystem and its carrying capacity. Undesirable effects of our greed for profitable growth, ever increasing consumerism and quest for national wealth only meant environmental disasters, increased pollution levels and heightened threats to the very survival of life. Pressures from various sources are compelling corporate world and governments alike to take proactive steps to ensure sustainability in their business operations and policies. The key sources of external environmental influences are consumers and social activists who are increasingly bringing awareness in the society. Hence the organizations had to alter and align their business processes and also tune their focus to these very issues. Further, the pressure to create and enhance value on a sustainable basis coming from within the organizations and from various stakeholders such as consumers, investors, activists, communities and governments. However, despite the visible transformation of organizations towards sustainability goals, the governments and society at large concerned about the footprints that these organizations leave on the environment. Indeed, impactful and decisive progress on sustainability targets depends to a larger extent on how organizations appreciate these concerns and nurture the right mind-set and attitudes within the organizations and across various stakeholders. Social entrepreneurs like Muhammad Yunus and Sanjit Bunker Roy have shown to the world how leading and embracing social responsibility-embedded business models can actually tackle mass poverty and ensure sustainable development. Likewise, there are several classic examples of Indian and global corporate entities leading such initiatives. Since the emerging frontiers of research and debate on Sustainability and Management Strategy still evolving, it is the right juncture for academicians, industry practitioners and policymakers to meet and deliberate on their views, brainstorm and share experiences while taking the relevant body of knowledge to the next level. It is in this context of the debate on Sustainability and Management Strategies with society, businesses and Government as the major stakeholders, the Centre for Sustainability, Growth & Development at Institute of Management Technology Nagpur, aims to bring these divergent perspectives in academia as well as industry practices for astute discussions and debate in the Fifth International Conference on Sustainability & Management Strategy on September 28-29, 2018. Academic Collaborators: With a vision to carry forward this discussion on strategies for Sustainability and Social Responsibility, Centre for Sustainability Growth and Development, Institute of Management Technology Nagpur has joined hands with the like-minded Intuitions of repute in sustainability efforts and partnered with the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research-National Environmental Engineering Institute (CSIR-NEERI) Nagpur, India and California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB), United States. The Conference Themes: This time, we encourage authors to write on following two themes apart from suggested themes that follow: Sustainable Business Models Sustainable business models are based on triple bottom line principle, which cater to the interests of business, environment and society. Their strategies are formulated in such a way that they have minimal negative impact on society and environment while earning the profits. These days, more and more companies are also coming forward to develop sustainable business models by incorporating triple bottom line approach. It is happening, because this transition is no more an option, but becoming an essential part of business strategies. It is not easy to shift from a current working business model to sustainable business model as lot of effort is required to build such a model. ICSMS-2018 will look to carry forward the discussion on this theme so as to know how companies innovate their product and processes to make their business sustainable.

Sustainability Reporting Sustainability reporting is a single document in which companies report about their environmental, social and economic performance. Still many companies do not have any idea of how to report and measure their sustainability performance. The stakeholders are trusting upon companies to provide information on sustainability performance of company. However, companies are facing challenges in communicating this information effectively. The conference will look forward to discuss this issue too. Suggested themes: We invite academicians, practitioners and researchers to submit their abstracts, articles and case studies on the following suggested themes. However, this is not an exhaustive list and you are welcome to submit in an area that broadly relates to the sustainability and management.
