Mustang Metro Serving North Nodaway R-VI School District May 2007 Hopkins & Pickering Volume 3, Issue 9 North Nodaway Honors 22 Graduates Josh Ogle and Krisin Gray share their thoughts with the audience at the 2007 Commencement Ceremonies. by: Emily Murphy The senior class of 2007 graduated from North Nodaway on May 13, 2007. The class motto was Life brings t e a r s, smiles, and memories. Tears dry, smiles fade, memories last forever. Graduation started with honor awards for students who graduated with highest honors. In order to receive highest honors, the student must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Those students honored were Megann Davis, Traci De- Mott, Brooke Florea, Megan Frueh, Kristin Gray, Cortni Livengood, Kara Nicholson, Josh Ogle, Casey O Grady, Rebecca Stringer, and Kayla Young. Students receiving regular honors for having a GPA of 3.0-3.5 during high school were Shawn Frueh, Doug McKee, and Jace Randle. Ben McIntyre, 2007-2008 Student Council President, honored the 2006-2007 Student of the Year. Megan Frueh was the recipient of this prestigious award. Megan Frueh was a very active member of North Nodaway as Student Body President, FFA covice president, and FCCLA vice president of community services, and as well as many other school clubs and activities. Kristin Gray was the class valedictorian. Kara Nicholson was the class salutatorian. Josh Ogle was the highest ranking boy in the class. Kristin Gray and Josh Ogle were the class speakers for the graduating class. Kristen s speech related to one of her favorite poems Birches, by Robert Frost. She spoke of people changing and growing over time and learning from life lessons. Josh s speech consisted of the class being together in everything they did. Or when somebody moved to Hopkins, the class would at fi rst not want to talk to the person but then when they were going to leave it was sad for the class to let go. After the class speakers, the slide show was presented. The slide show, created by Ms. Wilmes, was a delight to everyone at the graduation. The slide show consisted of pictures of the senior class from elementary through middle school and high school. The North Nodaway student body, faculty, and staff wish the class of 2007 the best of luck in their future endeavors.
