Interest within H2020 FP7/H2020 international cooperation is part of our strategy and specialisation. Under FP7 (4 years) we won 13 proposals with partners from EaP and MENA countries, 1 project awarded during the 1 st call of MSCA RISE. Our main interest is to guide partnering countries organisations through H2020 Programme: Project management, Technology transfer, Training, and Innovation support activities.
Advices to Jordanian parecipants Europe made a strong effort to stimulate international cooperation with Jordan and increase its participation to H2020 Programme. Jordan is considered as a Partnering country and therefore Jordanian participants are eligible for an automatic funding in most H2020 calls. In practice it does not ease the participation of Jordanian organisations to H2020 proposals/projects: Less specific calls targeting Jordan and MENA region Difficulties to join a consortium Weaken the evaluation of the proposal
Advices to Jordanian parecipants You must develop a thorough and thoughtful strategy to participate to a H2020 proposal. Background preparation is as important as your S&T competences. To optimise your chance of joining a consortium you must: 1. Get support from your National Contact Point 2. Identify the most appropriate calls and funding schemes (RIA, IA, CSA) 3. Identify successful European partners (Cordis project database, Cordis partner search, Ideal- IST network, EEN, NCP SME Network, LinkedIn interest groups, etc.) 4. Contact successful European partners
Advices to Jordanian parecipants Recently I have prepared a H2020 proposal with Fraunhofer under the NMP work programme and invited two partners from Algeria and Jordan (Hashemite University). In line with the objectives of the Union's strategy for international cooperation in research and innovation (COM(2012)497), international cooperation is encouraged, in particular with developing countries.
Advices to Jordanian parecipants Prepare marketing material Marketing material is often too long, unclear and uninteresting. Make it sexy! Prepare one page, A4 sized profile form focused on a single research department or technology Highlight your past international/national research experience, latest publications, relevant patents or unique research capabilities. Covering email / letter Keep the text short and concise, and explain clearly what your interest is: e.g. We would like to join a consortium preparing a proposal for the call ICT- 03-2016: Smart System Integration We have the following idea for a proposal or we would like to be a consortium partner responsible for the following activities... Prepare to be flexible depending on the response(s) received or not Use your own network of contacts (former classmates, previous project partners, colleagues, conference participants, etc.)
