JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Reporting to: Information: Project Development Officer The Board of Directors The Armagh Rhymers are one of the most celebrated traditional music and theatre ensembles on the island of Ireland. Founded in 1978, we have delighted audiences in schools, festivals throughout Ireland and around the world. As a relatively small arts charity it is essential that the Project Development Officer is committed to effective team work and is willing and eager to participate in all aspects of Armagh Rhymer s work. This contract is funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland under their Annual Funding Programme and is dependent on grant funds. Purpose: The Armagh Rhymers Educational & Cultural Organisation are recruiting a Project Development Officer to develop and enhance the work already being carried out by the organisation which includes our work with our partners such as Foras na Gaeilge, Irish medium schools and in Culturlann organisations throughout Northern Ireland. This contract is funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland under their Annual Funding Programme and is dependent on grant funds. The initial contract is for one year, subject to three month probationary period. Key Responsibilities: Planning, Preparation and Co-ordination 1. Completion of all current projects and identifying future projects. 2. Help to produce a relevant marketing strategy. 3. Liaise and continue to build relationships with Irish/English/Ulster Scots/Scots Gáidhlig organisations. 4. Ability to communicate fluently in[oral/written] Irish is key. Liaising with the Board of Directors 1. Assisting with the development and implementation of The Armagh Rhymers strategic priorities and business plans.
2. Assist and advise on the development of an Irish language policy and advise on the impact of this on associated company documentation. 3. Reporting to the Board on a regular basis re progress of work. Fundraising, Grant & Funding Management 1. Writing proposals and submitting grant applications in both Irish and English. 2. Ensuring mid-year, year-end and other required reporting to funding bodies is completed and submitted on time 3. Source and complete appropriate grant applications on behalf of the Armagh Rhymers including the completion of feedback information in Irish and English. Operational 1. Be involved in the ongoing implementation of Armagh Rhymers Policies and Procedures including Safeguarding, Health and Safety etc 2. Collating information from projects to assist administrator with monitoring return information for our funders. Marketing and Publicity 1. Contributing to the effective marketing of Armagh Rhymers and its workshops and events 2. Liaise with the Administrator re content for inclusion on our social media e.g. Facebook, Instagram. 2 Build and maintain contact with schools and other partners. 3 Up-dating of the Armagh Rhymer website General Duties 1 Undertaking any other duties as may reasonably be required to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of Armagh Rhymers Educational & Cultural Organisation. 2 Undertaking any mandatory training and any other relevant training as required. 3 Overseeing and quality assuring of all printed publicity material. 4 Build and maintain contact with schools, partners and organisations.
JOB SPECIFICATION PROJECT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER CRITERIA ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/ATTAINMENTS Diploma in Irish RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Up to 2-5 years relevant administration and management experience. Min 1 year experience of fundraising including the tracking, completion and evaluation of grant applications. Experience of working and providing a smooth efficient service to a range of stakeholders. Experience of working to deadlines. Proven track record in independently developing new partnerships and generating new opportunities Experience of working in the Irish language sectors e.g. schools, Foras na Gaeilge. Experience of website and social media administration Evidence of active engagement with the traditional arts or cultural or heritage sector Knowledge of GDPR SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Excellent planning and organisational skills Excellent Admin skills including attention to detail and record keeping Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, happy and confident working with and supporting a team and Board of Directors Proven effective time management Strong technical skills i.e. professional experience with full Microsoft package. Experience of policy development. Fluency in oral and written Irish language. GENERAL INFORMATION This contract is funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland under their Annual Funding Programme and is dependent on grant funds. Contract: Salary: Fixed Term up to 1 year with a probationary period of three months 15 per hour Location: The Rhymers Office Old Hospital Building, 39a Abbey Street, ARMAGH BT61 7DY Hours: 15 hours per week [working times to be agreed with successful candidate]. Probationary period: There is a probationary period of 3 months which may be terminated at a month s notice by either party. Variation to the Terms The Armagh Rhymers reserves the right to vary the terms of this arrangement subject to prior notification being given and after appropriate consultation has taken place.
