Project End Date: 11 th July 2015 10. Please tell us about your project? What does it aim to achieve and who benefits? BCH Youth Club is looking at trying to engage young people across Blackpool by holding various group activities (indoor and outdoor) over a 6-7 month period with the club4me campervan 11. What activities do you want us to fund? We are looking at holding Dance, Music, Art & Craft, Archery, Football, Rounders, Graffiti Art, Face painting and other outdoor activities depending on the weather. 12. Why do you feel your project is needed and have you carried out any consultation with the people who will benefit from the project? (provide evidence) We feel that there is a distinct lack of engagement with the youth community across Blackpool and we feel that by holding the group activities we could offer them an outlet to express themselves. We carried out a question and answer session with 12-18 year olds at our head office (Coastal House), and at local schools where we have our largest volume of housing stock and the results were overwhelmingly positive for wanting these activities. Out of 400 people questioned, 346 said they would attend, 42 said they already attend personal groups and the rest were undecided. Page 2

13. Please outline the support you have for this project from BCH staff and other community members? We have been working closely with the ASB team at BCH. They have advised that there has been an 11% increase in ASB involving youths in the past 12 months. Ben Jones, the Community Beat Manager on Grange Park said in my experience working on the estate, over half of the incidents I deal with involve youths in the 14-18 age bracket. (c) Stronger Communities (communities working together to tackle issues in their community such as Anti-Social Behaviour through community events etc): We have seen a willingness of parents to get involved to participate and volunteer to take up training to try and ensure these activities are delivered. We hope support to these people might see the regeneration to the community spirit that seems to have gone in certain communities (d) Improving our Neighbourhood Environments (improving our environments such as community gardens etc) We hope that by young people getting involved with our project, this will in turn empower them to get involved in further community events (linking back to the community spirit).
