Conference attendance scholarship Guidelines ACORN endeavours to support its members and their learning. ACORN is therefore offering scholarships to cover the cost of registration for the upcoming ACORN conference. Through these scholarships, 20 perioperative nurses will be given the chance to attend our international conference which will be held in Adelaide in May 2018 and offers numerous opportunities for education and networking. Applications for this scholarship close on 30 November 2017. Successful applicants will be notified by 31 January 2018. Eligibility To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must: be a current and continuous member of your local association for at least two years be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) be practising as a perioperative nurse provide a letter of support from your local association president and secretary that verifies your commitment to local association activities agree to allow ACORN to communicate with the appropriate local association to confirm your level of activity within the organisation. You must also agree to the following, should your application be successful: to submit a report about the conference no later than eight weeks after the conference. The report may be up to 1500 words and photos may be included. At the discretion of the Journal subcommittee, the report may be published in the journal and/or on the website. to have your name and state published in the journal and/or on the website to acknowledge the financial support you received from ACORN at the appropriate time/s.

Terms and conditions The scholarship will be awarded to an individual member no more than once every three years. The maximum amount of the scholarship will be the cost of conference registration. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 31 January 2018. Assistance will be provided as reimbursement for registration or as direct payment to an organisation for registration. No cash sum shall be given to the applicant without evidence of payment. No retrospective applications will be considered. All applications will be considered on merit. If your application is not successful, the reason will be given; however, the decision of the board is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Completing your application Please ensure all items relating to your application are received by the ACORN office by 30 November 2017. Incomplete applications and applications received after this date will not be considered. The ACORN Board of Directors wishes you every success in regards to your application.
