Should be spelled Beard on October minutes (Changed). 2. Update from Carolina Donor Services 3. Duke Trauma Program Updates: Presentation by Joy Lawson of Carolina Donor Services. One Case Presented on: CDC Process for organ donations, family care, and optimum care provided to potential care and donor management goals. Encouraged all RAC facilities to notify CDC if they have patients to qualify for organ donation. Carolyn Foley Proposed to the group: Outcomes that affiliates need and facilities own donor management goals. We are here to assist if needed with processes. Question proposed from group- Is it mandatory in NC to inform CDS on organ donation for patients? Joy confirmed that it is required Joy offered cards and informational resources to group. Sean Gibson -Trauma Program: Absence of a RAC Coordinator for some time. Georgina making contact with agencies and hospitals has been making a big difference.
Setting reset button- Wants to move forward and continue establishing relationships. All are equal members in the RAC. DRAC is regional and membership driven and wants trauma center to be a resource. DRAC provides educational opportunities. 4 courses budgeted between this month and July. If not part of this course rotation will hit you in the next upcoming offering. 27 th Annual Trauma Symposium, Thursday March 9 th, 2017 from 7:15am-5:10pm, Durham Hilton. - All RAC Members get same rate at DUHS Employees. Raffle drawing to attend conference: 1.) Vance County EMS gets to send one employee complementary to the Trauma Conference. 2.) Regional Emergency Preparedness Coalition Updates- Ken Shaw HealthCare Coalition will be meeting after the RAC. HealthCare Coalition is changing meeting format. Starting in March format will be a Webinar. Intent will be to provide disaster training and education following DRAC quarterly meeting Will still be reporting out to the RAC. The Steering Committee will be meeting by phone and webinar also. Each organization of the coalition will have one vote or a primary member listed on the roster from representation. New Triangle Website - Sign up to get involved with one of the coalitions. Will be holding a coalition workshop on April 7 th Workshop focus - Will be to divide up coalition and examine ways to Conveyed to group to please check the rooster and let Ken know if it is correct or that changes to representation need to be made.

6. Proposed Changes to the Bylaws Duke Regional Advisory Committee Meeting Front Page- date amended Article 1- Section 1 Language changed to hospitals from VA. Who routinely provided trauma transfers to Duke University Hospital Added: Hospitals or EMS systems who routinely provide trauma transfers to Duke University Hospital and belong to the RAC. These entities would consider DRAC as secondary RAC and would not be given voting privileges. Article II Section 2b Membership changes The Trauma Medical Director Trauma Program Manager One Emergency Physician One Emergency Medical Services Provider from each EMS Agency in the RAC. Article II Section 1 A representative from each hospital/family Medical Center in the RAC s area (wording) Injury Prevention Coordinator removed Life flight representative removed Article II- Section 2b Delete EMS Medical Dir & adm. RN Add Trauma Med Dir and TPM Article II Section 3c Change in wording, delete caused by death, resignation, removal otherwise. Article III Section 1a Officers changed from secretary to treasurer to Co-Chair & secretary Annual meeting changed from April to January RAC Meeting. Co-Chair shall be filled by RAC Coordinator added. Approval of amended bylaws: A vote was held to approve amended bylaws by Georgina Bylaws were approved by the RAC with a 12/12 vote in favor of changes.

Election of RAC Chair and Secretary for 2017 Duke Regional Advisory Committee Meeting Ken Shaw nominated Brenda Lanan for Chair Nomination was approved by the RAC with a 12/12 in favor of Brenda Lanan and the Chair was elected. Javier Plummer from Vance County EMS was nominated by Sean Gibson Nomination was approved by the RAC with a 12/12 in favor of Javier Plummer and the Secretary was elected. 8.
