We will learn how to utilize the new system and review the important differences from the old to the new. 104 THE AVUE REVIEW THE AVUE REVIEW A review of the unique AVUE DIGITAL SERVICES (www.avuedigitalservices.com) which is another federal online system utilized by 15 agencies such as USDA, Department of Justice, US Forest Service, and Department of Justice and others. This module will cover many aspects of the website from how to register, develop a profile to searching for jobs. Instructor will review how to copy and paste the master resume step by step. Understanding this system is key to a successful federal job search. 105. VETERAN S PREFERENCE ADVANTAGE VETERAN S PREFERENCE ADVANTAGE Veterans and family members will gain a better understanding of Veteran s Preference as it relates to special hiring authorities. Learn how separated military personnel may use the five point or ten point preference for federal employment opportunities. The Federal Government offers many opportunities for veterans and disabled veterans. A thorough explanation of many topics will encompass VRA, VEOA, and Status Veteran Eligibility. Additionally, an explanation is given on how veterans are ranked and referred in veteran preference order. How to highlight you re most important skills, core qualifications, key words, and accomplishments in the Work History section to get you qualified for a job. Learn how to format KSAs into be in the body of the résumé. How to effectively highlight your education so you can prove that you meet education and training requirements. How to leverage the additional information section by including a summary and supporting information. 107 UNDERSTANDING THOSE POPULAR ONLINE ASSESSMENT QUESTIONS UNDERSTANDING THOSE POPULAR ONLINE ASSESSMENT QUESTIONS Discover why the questionnaires were developed. Generally, the KSAs were used to demonstrate Knowledge, Skills and Abilities. The assessment questionnaires were developed because of the different requirements of each position. You will gain a better understanding on how to provide responses to questions that will evaluate whether you meet the minimum qualifications of the position. You will learn how to create a cover letter that will enhance your federal application. 109 INTERVIEWING SKILLS FOR THE FEDERAL INTERVIEW The class will provide an overview of interviewing skills from the first impression, characteristics of a successful interview (preparation, presentation, content) to behavioral interviewing style questions/and answers. The importance of effectively demonstrating the Context, Challenge, Action and Results (CCAR) formula in responding to questions during the federal interview. Discover how to research the agency mission, evaluate the announcement to know the environment, and develop 3 to 5 questions to ask after the interview. Finally, our trainer will review the importance of follow-up, common mistakes made, and additional interview tips. 110 HOW TO JOB HUNT UG SOCIAL MEDIA HOW TO JOB HUNT UG SOCIAL MEDIA With the buzz being about Networking you will discover many ways to use social media in order to network and find a job. Discover how to use LinkedIn.com, Facebook.com, Twitter.com, YouTube.com, and GovLoop.com. These social medial websites allow you to build a profile and upload your resume. There are ways to use social media in a job search specifically for company search through blogging and joining different networking groups. We will share many ways to connect to great employers. 111 FEDERAL RESUME WRITING TRAINING PACKAGE 9 Hours Additional One-on-one Training es FEDERAL RESUME WRITING TRAINING The federal resume writing training is available to assist an individual who may be lacking the understanding how to write various resumes for a family group of positions. Discover how to gain insight on a particular selected job posting and how to match skills to the selected announcement. The trainer will show the individual how to write the resume by providing step-by-step guidance for a particular career niche. During this time an individual may find it necessary to acquire additional support and guidance. This training is beneficial as a refresher course on both Traditional Q&A and Behavioral Q&A sessions. 114 PRIVATE/CORPORATE PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING PACKAGE - $1,145.64 12 Total Hours One-on-one Training es PRIVATE/CORPORATE PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING PACKAGE The private sector and corporate training is focused on Entry to Executive Level Resume Writing Training and Job Search. The package includes individual career coaching to determine a career niche by providing an assessment tool.
