How to register your community fundraising event If you re planning on holding an event or raising money on behalf of Cancer Council SA, there are some steps you must follow to ensure your event is officially registered and approved by Cancer Council SA. Below is a step by step process of how to register your proposed fundraiser. Step 1: Complete the Community Fundraising Form which is available by clicking here. Please complete all details marked with an * and include as much detail as possible about your event. Step 2: Specify if you would like any additional support materials such as donation boxes, tax receipt booklets, brochures, balloons or if you would like a Cancer Council SA representative to attend your event. Please note that we cannot guarantee a representative at all events as this is subject to the availability of staff and ambassadors. Step 3: Review the Cancer Council SA Community Fundraising Guidelines. This is an important step as your proposed event must adhere to the guidelines listed. Step 4: Submit your application! By submitting your application, you agree to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in the Community Fundraising Guidelines. Step 5: The application will then be reviewed by a member of Cancer Council SA staff and we will contact the applicant with any further questions and to confirm approval. Step 6: If approved, the applicant will then receive a Letter of Authority to Fundraise, information on how to deposit any funds raised, a name tag which must be worn at all times during the fundraiser and any other support materials requested. How to set up an online fundraising page You may wish to set up an online fundraising page to help generate awareness and to help raise funds for your event. You can customise your online page with your own content, photos, and videos and connect this to your Facebook account to share with friends, family and colleagues. Any donation over $2.00 will be issued with an automatic tax receipt (sent via email) which acknowledges the supporter. Please follow the steps below to set up your online fundraising page. Step 1: Follow the link here to direct you to the Cancer Council SA online fundraising hub. Step 2: If you re a new registrant and have not created an online fundraising page in the past, click Create New. If you re a returning participant, enter your details.
Step 3: Select my Fundraising to personalise your page and upload photos and videos. Here you can add in details about your event, what you have planned and share your motivations behind fundraising. Step 4: How to add photos and videos- Select My fundraising, then scroll down and click add image. Select images from your personal library then select upload and save changes to add the image. Repeat process to add more images.
Select add video to upload your video and save changes.
Step 5: How to email your page to friends and family Select get sponsors to email your personal fundraising page to your friends, family and colleagues to help spread the message about your fundraiser. Make sure to personalise the subject line to reflect your event. You can send this to multiple people at a time by entering in the various email addresses in the to section. Step 5: To enter in cash donations you may have received. This function will allow you to bank any cash donations you have received from other people throughout your fundraiser and will allow you to add these donations to your total. If the donation is over $2.00 you can issue the donor with a tax receipt.
Select manage cash and enter in the donation amount and the donor details to ensure they re acknowledged for their contribution. Step 6: How to connect your page to Facebook.
Select my fundraising Scroll down until you see the function get social and click share your page. This will then connect your online fundraising page to your Facebook page and you can share the link with your friends. Step 7: Enjoy your fundraiser!
