Course Enrolment As part of the online application process, incoming exchange students are required to submit their provisional learning agreements with their course selections. The list of courses offered is subject to change. Final course registration will take place during the course registration period at the beginning of each semester, and during the add/drop period defined in the academic calendar. Students must complete all necessary paperwork and receive all the required approvals within the designated deadlines. Course Load The normal course load for the autumn and spring semesters is 30 ECTS credits. If students need to take additional credits they may need to obtain special approval. Add / Drop Period Students are required to finalise the details of their Learning Agreements during the first two weeks of their courses. The add/drop period is from September 21 to 27 in the Autumn Semester, and from February 1st to 7 in the Spring Semester. Exams End-of-semester examinations are administered during the examination period as announced on the academic calendar. No special early exams can be arranged for the incoming exchange students. Grading A student's course performance is evaluated by the relevant course instructor based on midterm examinations and assignments, as well as attendance, if applicable, and the results of the end-of-semester examinations. For every course taken by a student, the relevant course instructor assigns a grade to the student within the announced dates on the academic calendar. We use the ECTS credit system and the grading system is standard American letter grade. The minimum passing grade is 'D'. Grade F indicates that the student failed the course.

Learning Expectations Students are required to attend all courses, applied exercises, laboratory sessions, projects, examinations and other related academic activities for which they are registered. The effect of attendance on the grade calculation shall be announced by the instructor at the beginning of the semester. Transcripts Akdeniz University issues Transcripts automatically to all incoming Erasmus exchange students. Transcripts are issued in English to non-erasmus exchange students. Transcripts are sent to the International Offices or Study Abroad Offices of partner institutions no later than 5 weeks after the completion of the grading period. Consulate Address Please check the following link to find Turkish Embassies or Consulates abroad: http://www.mfa.gov.tr/turkish-representations.en.mfa Residence Permit http://erasmus.akdeniz.edu.tr/frequently-asked-questions.i454.visa-process-residencepermit Housing Akdeniz University cannot provide dormitory accommodation for exchange students. However, there are a variety of apart hotels and private dormitories around the campus. It is also possible for students to rent flats. Academic Expenses Exchange students are not required to pay any tuition fees, but are responsible for the purchase of their own textbooks, and for their own living and personal expenses.

Health Related Health services for both the staff and students of Akdeniz University are provided at an outpatient clinic in the Medico-Social Centre. From there they may be transferred to other health institutions for further examination and treatment if necessary. The costs of medication and treatment for students who have no social insurance provision for either themselves or family members (spouse or parents) are covered by the special budget by way of medical reports issued by the Health, Culture and Sports Directorate. Psychological Consultancy and Guidance The primary aim of the Psychological Counselling and Guidance Unit is to protect the mental health of students and personnel by means of individual psychotherapy. Psychological Consultation and Guidance Services are undertaken by psychiatrists, psychologists and social services experts. Psychotherapy treatments can help individuals to feel more able to achieve their goals in life by enabling them to take the control of their emotions, thoughts and actions. The objective is to allow individuals to get to know themselves better, to decrease psychological stress if it is present, to eliminate behavioral disorders, and to enable the positive growth and development of personality. Akdeniz Student Card An Akdeniz student card is given to all exchange students at the beginning of the semester. All students are required to carry their student cards with them at all times. Students may be asked to show their cards to enter examinations and benefit from on campus facilities.
