Important Information about the Holiday Child Care Program If the Holiday STEP Child Care program is closed due to inclement weather or is delayed in opening, we will e-mail information to families who are registered. The Holiday Program is available to all students of Cherry Hill in kindergarten through fifth grade, up to and including the age of twelve. You do not need to attend any other STEP or SACC program in order to attend Holiday Child Care. The purpose of Holiday Child Care is to provide child care. In addition to normal child care fun activities, we choose between providing athletic activities, bringing programs to the school, and/or on some dates we will go on a trip. The Holiday Program is open for 11 hours from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The program is held at the Cooper Elementary School unless an alternate school is necessary. March 15, 2019 SPRING BREAK CARE Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: April 22, 2019 April 23, 2019 April 24, 2019 April 25, 2019 April 26, 2019 Families enrolled in SACC or EDCC in 2018-2019 will simply do (1), as explained below. If you are NOT registered for SACC or EDCC in 2018-2019, do (1) and (2), as explained below. 1. There is a Sign-Up Page for Holiday Child Care with a $50 fee for each 11-hour program day that you select (the Sign-Up Page is the first page, above). 2. There is a school-year family Registration Form with a $30 family annual fee. This form is the last two pages, below. (If your child is in SACC or EDCC, you have already completed this registration form and have paid this registration fee.) Send a non-perishable lunch and your snack items with your child. On some trips the children might take their lunches with them, therefore, please pack lunches for that possibility (no glass bottles; use a strong moisture resistant bag or a lunch box). For the younger children, you may wish to label what is lunch and what is snack so it is not all eaten at one time. Some children have severe allergies to peanuts/nuts or latex. To help keep all of the children safe who use the schools we ask that you are careful to avoid sending items that contain peanuts, tree nuts, or any peanut product (such as peanut butter sandwiches, crackers, peanut butter snacks, etc). Latex balloons can spread latex dust throughout the school creating breathing difficulties for those with severe latex allergies. Medications are only dispensed at noon (approximately). In addition to written parent permission on the district form, the form must be completed by the prescriber and includes the name of the medication, dose, diagnosis/purpose, and prescriber comments. This form requires
a physician s office stamp. Obtain the form from your home school nurse and submit it with the sign-up page. Bring medications to the Holiday program each day enrolled. Parents: Obtain medical paperwork from your child's school nurse to allow the program nurse to dispense medication at Holiday Child Care. The nurse is at the program at approximately NOON to 1:00. The nurse will try to make a time adjustment with you when there is a trip during the NOON to 1:00 hour. The cancellation deadline for a refund or credit to be issued is 5 business days prior to the program date. A written request must be received 5 business days in advance of the program date. If your late registration is accepted and you then cancel, there will be no refund or credit. Trips or programming activities held at the school site will be listed above prior to each Holiday Child Care program date. Children may not be picked up while on a trip. Arrange to pick up before the trip at the school, if needed. This is a security issue. We do not take parent chaperones on trips. Please arrange for your child to arrive at the appropriate school site for the Holiday Program well in advance of any trip that might be scheduled. By so doing, the children are accounted for, use the bathrooms, and prepare for the trip in an orderly fashion. For your planning, be advised that the trip return times are best judgments and may be later due to traffic, children's needs, and an event running long. When there is a trip, the children are bused by a school bus contractor for the district. Please make a point to be aware, in advance, of the time that trips depart from the school. We send all staff on the trip and do not leave staff at the school. It may be necessary to relocate students and staff to another district school or more than one school due to an unforeseen situation at the STEP program such as a utility outage, work being conducted at the school, or other situations that may occur. The movement to another school would be by district approved school buses and could take place within an extremely short notice. Families would be contacted as soon as possible by the STEP Office or the District Notification System. This would require picking up your child at the other school. Please remember that an adult photo ID and the student ID number is required to be shown when picking up your child. If an authorized adult is picking up your child remind them to bring their adult photo ID and the student ID number. They must be authorized in our records to pick up. Holiday Child Care dates can be effected by the school district s inclement weather make-up days. 2018-2019 inclement weather make up dates are: Feb. 15, Feb. 18, Mar. 15, Apr. 26, 25, 24. Please call us at 429-6564 ext. 2 for assistance and information. We are happy to be helpful.
